L’instrument est probablement un ancien orgue de salon du XVIIIè siècle, reconstruit en 1852 par le facteur François-Joseph Carlier, de Saint-Amand-lesEaux et transféré en 1892 dans l’église. Bien entretenu jusqu’en 1963, l’orgue fut ensuite quelque peu délaissé. La restauration effectuée entre 1992 et 1994
par les facteurs Jean-Loup Boisseau et Bertrand Cattiaux a privilégié un retour à une esthétique du XVIIIè siècle en conservant les tuyaux de cette époque
et en complétant l’instrument par un nouveau matériel assorti à ce fond d’origine, sans prendre en compte les modifications du XIXè siècle. Doté d’un clavier
unique de 54 notes et d’un pédalier en tirasse permanente de 13 notes, l’orgue bénéficie d’une tuyauterie homogène qui privilégie l’exécution du répertoire
baroque destiné aux petits instruments. Il fut inauguré le 20 mai 1995.
The instrument is probably an old salon organ of the eighteenth century, rebuilt in 1852 by builder FrançoisJoseph Carlier of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux and in 1892 and transferred into the church. Well maintained until
1963, the organ was then somewhat neglected. The restoration carried out between 1992 and 1994 by JeanLoup Boisseau and Bertrand Cattiaux favored a return to the aesthetics of the eighteenth century maintaining
pipes of that time and supplementing the instrument with new material in the style of the original, without
taking into account the changes of the nineteenth century. With a single keyboard of 54 notes and 13 pedals
permanently coupled, the organ benefits from homogeneous pipework that favors the execution of the
baroque repertoire for small instruments. It was inaugurated on 20 May 1995.
