Holiday Edition 2012, Volume 1, Issue 4 p. 2 What’s Happening in… Grade 2 Ms. Seath’s Class La Classe de Mme Annie Amanda Cynthia Ms. Seath has eighteen students in her class. Her classroom is painted bright yellow and she has a lot of Christmas decorations on the walls. The children’s favourite thing to do is read set books. Their favourite month is December because they like to make Christmas decorations. One of the previous field trips that the Grade 2 class went on was apple picking. Yummy, crunchy, juicy apples! They are going to have a Christmas lunch with the Grade 1 class on December 21st. Their next theme will be winter, then owls. Badminton Ornament Sale Maxim and William Connor and Vincent The Grade 4, 5 and 6 students are learning how to become better badminton players. We learn new rules every week. Mrs. Danielle makes a schedule for the different grades to practice in the gym during lunch time. We play against another student on one of the 6 half courts. When you win, you move up a court and when you lose, you go down a court. This is so that you end up playing against someone of your own strength. We are learning lots of new strategies. We learned that if the birdie hits the line, it’s in. If someone serves in front of the service line, don’t touch it because it will give you a point. Every time you make a point, you get to serve. We are becoming badminton experts. Students at John Adam are preparing for Christmas. The entire school participated in making ornaments for our ornament sale. Each class made a different ornament, from customized Christmas balls to handmade snowmen. Ornaments were sold on the 19th of December in OASIS and each student was allowed to buy one. The school raised $305 in one day!! This money will be for the Christmas food baskets to help those in need. HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Editor-in-Chief: Kim Jarvo Creative Director: Courtney Jarvo
