CALL FOR CANDIDATES
Recognition Award
Through its Recognition Award, ARC seeks to highlight the dynamism
and commitment of women or men who, thanks to their interventions,
have helped to consolidate the status of college-level research
and to improve the quality of research conducted in the colleges.
Deadline for submissions: Friday, November 25, 2016
ARC ? The mission of the Association pour la recherche au collégial, founded in 1988,
is to promote college research by representing the interests of individuals
and groups engaged with such research, by organizing activities to recognize
excellence in college research and by providing services to the college
research community.
Eligibility
Any person or any group of persons working in the public or
private college system, without regard to status or title, and
who by their achievements, have contributed to developing
college-level research, are eligible. Previous winners of the
award and members of the board of governors are ineligible
for the award.
Terms of participation
Anyone can recommend one or more candidates, proposing
either themselves or others, with a view to receiving this award.
The only requirement is that the application form be completed
and attached to a document attesting the contribution of the
candidate (individual or group) to the development of college
research. This portfolio can contain a maximum of five pages as
Selection criteria
The choice of the person or group to receive the award
is determined by the significance of the person’s or
the group’s interventions in support of research development.
The following activities may, by way of example, serve as
selection criteria to choose between candidates:
•­intervening with public and semi-public bodies in order
to generate awareness of the status of college research
or to promote the development of college research;
•­undertaking activities that contribute to building research
infrastructures in colleges or in the college network;
well as a number of annexes. Documents must reach the ARC
secretariat by Friday, November 25, 2016 at the latest.
The committee to evaluate candidates
The ARC Recognition Award is attributed by the ARC board
of governors following the recommendation of a selection
committee made up, among others, of previous winners
of the award who volunteer to be part of this committee.
The nature and presentation of the award
The person or the group of persons receiving the ARC
•­organizing colloquia on college research;
Recognition Award also receive an ARC honorary membership.
•conducting training and proficiency sessions for college
researchers;
The individual or group is also presented with a gift.
•serving on committees promoting college research;
•­participating, on a regular basis, in juries selecting research
projects submitted by college researchers.
The ARC Recognition Award will be awarded during the Belles
Rencontres de l’ARC to be held in Quebec City on Friday,
January 13, 2017.
