Votre choix démontre que vous aimez les belles armes! A vous maintenant d'en prendre soin, comme il en a été pris soin
tout au long de sa fabrication. Avant de parvenir entre vos mains, cette arme a été testée, vérifiée, éprouvée pièce par pièce
à tous les stades de sa fabrication. C'est un véritable outil de précision, prêt à fonctionner des années durant. Pour vous
permettre d’en obtenir le maximum de plaisir et d’efficacité nous avons rassemblé dans cette notice quelques conseils
d’utilisation.
You have just become the proud owner of a semi-automatic
shotgun “MATRIX®” from Verney-Carron.
Your choice proves that you like beautiful firearms! Now it is up to you to take care of it as it had been done during its
production cycle. Before coming to your hands, this firearm was tested, checked, and proofed piece by piece at every stage
of manufactured. It is a true precision piece that will give you years and years of full satisfaction. The instructions given in
this leaflet will allow to obtain the maximum of pleasure and efficiency from it.

Recommandations importantes.
N'utilisez que des munitions de qualité correspondant exactement au calibre de votre fusil indiqué sur le
canon.
Lors de l'achat et à chaque début de saison effectuer un tir de contrôle de fonctionnement.
Stockez votre arme fermée, désarmée et nettoyée.
Notre responsabilité ne pourra être engagée en cas de dommage résultant de l'utilisation de cartouches
d'un mauvais calibre ou développant des pressions excessives.
Entretenez votre arme très soigneusement et n'utilisez jamais d'huile ordinaire.
Pour la bonne conservation des bois, il est impératif d'entretenir régulièrement ceux-ci à l'huile de lin.
Avant toute manipulation, assurez-vous que votre arme n'est pas chargée.
Pour une meilleure sécurité, maintenez celle-ci en position "sureté".
Pendant toutes les manipulations, maintenez le canon dans une direction ne représentant pas de danger.
Ne chargez votre arme que lorsque vous vous trouvez en position de tir.
Ne mettez le doigt sur la détente qu'au moment de tirer.
Conservez séparément et sous clef votre arme et ses munitions.
Ne laissez jamais votre arme sans surveillance et mettez-la hors de portée des enfants.
Lorsque vous demandez un renseignement quelconque à propos de votre arme, n'omettez pas d'indiquer
le numéro de série figurant sur le canon.
Epreuve.
Toutes les armes Verney-Carron ont subi avant leur commercialisation l'épreuve réglementaire au Banc
d'Epreuve Officiel de la ville de Saint-Etienne. Elles sont garanties contre tout vice de construction
résultant d'un défaut de matière première ou de fabrication.

Important recommandations
Use only quality ammunition corresponding to the gauge of your shotgun as stated on the barrel.
After the purchase, and before every hunting season, do a shooting control séance.
Store your gun locked, unloaded and cleaned.
Our responsibility will not be engaged in case of damages resulting from the use of wrong gauge
cartridges or generating excessive pressure.
Clean your gun very carefully and never use ordinary oil.
For their good preservation, it is imperative to maintain the wood parts regularly with linseed oil.
Before any handling, make sure your gun in unloaded.
For a better safety, keep your gun manual safety activated.
During all manipulations, maintain your barrel in a safe direction.
Chamber a round only when you are about to fire.
Keep your gun and its ammunition separately and under lock.
Never leave your gun unattended. Keep it out of the reach of children.
When you ask information about your gun please state its serial number engraved on the barrel.
Proof
All Verney-Carron guns went through the official test at the Official Proof House of Saint-Etienne before
being marketed. They are covered by our warranty against all design faults due to defects in raw
materials or manufacture.

Montage.
Dans l'emballage, le fusil se présente séparé en deux groupes
: d'un côté la boîte de culasse avec la crosse et le devant
(garde-main), de l'autre le canon.
Pour le montage procéder de la façon suivante :
Assurez-vous que le canon est propre et sans excès de
lubrifiant. Extraire le devant en dévissant l'écrou moleté puis en
le faisant glisser hors du tube magasin Assembler le devant sous le canon en insérant la partie avant
du devant sur l'anneau du canon .
Faite glisser le devant sur le tube magasin et ajuster le
correctement sur la boîte de culasse en veillant au bon
positionnement des différents éléments. Visser à fond l'écrou
moleté du devant. Refermer l’obturateur en appuyant sur son
bouton de décrochage (bouton rond).
Vérifier le bon fonctionnement du mécanisme en actionnant
manuellement l’obturateur. S’il reste bloqué à l'avant voir page
13 «Démontage du groupe sous-garde pour débloquer
l’obturateur».

Assembly.
The gun is supplied dismantled in two parts : on one side
the receiver-stock unit, on the other side the barrel.
To assemble proceed as follows
Make sure the barrel is clean and free of heavy lubrication.
Remove the forend by unscrewing the forend nut. Slide the
forend off the magazine tube Assemble the forend on to the barrel’s underside by inserting
the front part of the forend to the barrel’s lug .
Slide the forend into the magazine tube and fit it properly to
the receiver . Make sure that the forend is fitted with the
forend latch correctly. Screw the forend nut on to the front of
the magazine tube, finger tight. Close the bolt by pressing its
release button (round button).
Check the proper functioning of the mechanism by manually
operating the bolt. If it gets stuck at the front, see page 14
“Disassembly of the trigger guard to unlock the bolt”.

Chargement.
Mettre l'arme en position de sûreté .
L'obturateur doit être à l'avant en position fermée .
Introduire les premières cartouches en les glissant dans le tube
magasin, tout en appuyant sur l’élévateur grâce à notre
fonction de chargement facile .
Après le chargement du tube magasin pressez le bouton de
verrouillage de l’élévateur (situé sur le côté droit, au-dessus du
bouton de sûreté), une cartouche se met en place sur
l’élévateur.
Faire passer cette cartouche de l’élévateur dans la chambre en
tirant le levier de l'obturateur complètement à l'arrière, puis en
le refermant .
Chargez la dernière cartouche dans le tube magasin, et
pressez le bouton de verrouillage de l’élévateur pour faire
passer cette cartouche du tube magasin à l’élévateur.
Lorsque vous êtes prêt à faire feu, enlever la sûreté.
L'arme est maintenant prête à tirer.

Loading.
Put the manual safety "on" .
The bolt must be forward into closed position .
Load the first cartridges by sliding them forward into the
magazine tube, thanks to our easy loading feature depressing
the cartridge carrier as you do so .
After loading the magazine tube pull the carrier latch button
(situated on the right side, above the safety button), a cartridge
will drop on the carrier.
Move that cartridge from carrier into the chamber by pulling
the bolt lever fully to the rear, and releasing it .
Load the last cartridge to the magazine tube, and pull the
carrier latch button to drop that cartridge from magazine tube
to the carrier.
When you are ready to fire, put the manual trigger safety in
the "off" position.
The gun now is ready to fire.

Déchargement.
Ne jamais mettre le doigt ou tout autre objet au contact de la détente durant le déchargement.
Les cartouches utilisées sont éjectées automatiquement.
Pour enlever les cartouches non utilisées, s'assurer d'abord que la sûreté soit activée.
Tirer à fond le levier de l'obturateur pour extraire la cartouche située dans la chambre. S’il y a une cartouche dans la
chambre et une sur l’élévateur, ce mouvement provoquera le chambrage de cette seconde cartouche. Tirer à fond et
relâcher à nouveau l'obturateur pour l'éjecter.
S'il reste une cartouche dans le tube magasin, pressez le bouton de verrouillage de l’élévateur pour y placer la
cartouche. Ouvrez et refermez l'obturateur pour chambrer cette cartouche puis l'éjecter. Continuer jusqu’à ce que
toutes les cartouches soient éjectées.
Toujours contrôler que le fusil soit complètement déchargé avant de déposer l’arme.

Unloading.
Never permit your finger or another object to come in contact with the trigger while unloading.
Fired cartridges will be ejected automatically.
To unload the unfired cartridges from the gun, be sure that the safety button is in the "on" position and the barrel is
pointed in a safe direction.
Pull the bolt lever to rear to eject any cartridge in the chamber. If there is a cartridge in the chamber and a cartridge
on the carrier, this will also load the cartridge from the carrier, pull and release the bolt again to eject it.
If a cartridge remains in the magazine tube, pull the carrier latch button to place that cartridge onto the carrier. Pull
and release the bolt to load that cartridge to the chamber, then pull and release the bolt again to eject it from the
chamber.
Continue until all cartridges have been ejected.
Always double check to make sure that your shotgun is completely unloaded when you are not shooting.

Sûreté. Safety.
La sûreté manuelle se trouve située sur le pontet .
En poussant le bouton de droite à gauche et vice versa, on
active ou désactive la sûreté.
On aperçoit une bande rouge sur le bouton de sûreté quand
l’arme est en position "feu".
La sécurité manuelle est uniquement destinée à bloquer la
détente et en aucun cas elle ne dispense d'une manipulation de
l'arme dans le respect des règles de sécurité.
The manual safety button is located on the trigger guard .
By pushing it from right to left or vice versa the gun is either set
for firing or has the safety activated.
A red stripe on the safety button shows when the gun is set for
firing.
The manual trigger safety is intended only to lock the trigger; it
is not a substitute for safe gun handling.

Démontage. Disassembly.
Décharger le fusil et activer la sûreté manuelle.
Tirer le levier de l'obturateur complètement à l'arrière et
verrouiller l'obturateur en position "ouverte".
Dévisser l’écrou moleté et faire glisser le devant.
Extraire le canon.
Remonter le devant et revisser l’écrou moleté.
Tenir le levier de l'obturateur tout en appuyant sur le bouton de
décrochage pour ramener lentement l'obturateur en position
"fermée".
Unload the gun and activate the manual safety.
Pull the bolt lever fully to the back and lock in "bolt open"
position.
Unscrew the forend nut and slide off the forend.
Pull the barrel out.
Slide the forend back in place and screw on the forend cap.
Hold the bolt lever and press the carrier latch button allowing
a slow return to the "bolt closed" position.

pour débloquer l’obturateur.
Avec un outil approprié, chasser la goupille du groupe détente
hors de la boîte de culasse .
Appuyer sur le bouton de verrouillage de l'obturateur et
simultanément pousser le groupe détente en avant pour le
retirer .
Vérifier alors le positionnement de la bielle sur le poussoir du
ressort de fermeture.
Si la bielle est sortie (position ) il faut la réenclencher
(position ).

Disassembly of the trigger guard to
unlock the bolt.
By means of a suitable tool, push the trigger guard pin out of
the receiver .
While depressing the carrier latch button, push the trigger
group forward to remove it .
Then check the positioning of the rod on the pusher of the
closing spring.
If the rod is out (position ) it must be reset (position ).

Mode d'emploi des chokes interchangeables
Certains de nos modèles sont équipés de chokes
interchangeables en acier.
Pour en obtenir un bon usage, il est recommandé :
1° – Lors de chaque changement de choke, de
visser à fond et de bloquer modérément le
manchon sur le canon à l'aide de la clé livrée à cet
usage.
2° – Lors du démontage, de débloquer à l'aide de
la clé le manchon qui peut ensuite être facilement
dévissé à la main.
Il est vivement conseillé de procéder régulièrement
au nettoyage des chokes et à leur lubrification avec
de l'huile fluide spéciale pour les armes afin
d'éviter que les dépôts dus à la combustion de la
poudre ne rendent leur démontage difficile.
Tant qu'ils ne sont pas utilisés, nous conseillons,
pour une meilleure protection, de conserver les
chokes supplémentaires dans leur boîte d'origine
qui porte une étiquette précisant le choke et
permettant de les identifier.
Chaque choke peut aussi être identifié par le
nombre de stries faites sur la bouche :

Au cas où un manchon aurait subi une quelconque
déformation à la suite d'un choc ou d'une chute, il
ne faut plus l'utiliser, sous peine de le détériorer
complètement en même temps que le canon, avant
de l'avoir fait contrôler et, si possible, redresser.
LES CHOKES INTERCHANGEABLES SONT CONÇUS POUR LE TIR DE LA GRENAILLE. LE TIR DES BALLES
N'EST PAS RECOMMANDÉ SAUF A UTILISER LE MANCHON CYLINDRIQUE ET DES BALLES EN PLOMB.

Direction for use of interchangeable chokes.
Some of our models are fitted with interchangeable
steel chokes.
For a suitable use, it is recommended :
1° – Each time the choke is changed, to screw
home and moderately lock the choke on the
barrel with the special spanner.
2° – When disassembling, to unlock the choke with
the special spanner and then it can be easily
unscrewed by hand.
It is advisable to clean and lubricate the chokes
frequently, mainly the thread, with fluid special
firearm oil, to remove fouling which may hinder the
take down operation.
As long as they are not used, we recommend for a
better protection to keep the additional chokes in
their original box bearing a label showing the
grade and allowing a good identification.
Notches in the rim indicate the choke pattern
designation :
1 notch = full choke
2 notches = imp. mod.
3 notches = modified
4 notches = imp. cyl.
5 notches = cylinder
If any choke had suffered any deformation due to
an impact or fall, it should not be used before
having been inspected and if possible straightened,
otherwise it could be fully damaged at the same
time as the barrels.
INTERCHANGEABLE CHOKES ARE SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO USE SHOTS SHELLS. THEREFORE THE
SHOOT OF SLUGS IS NOT RECOMMENDED SHORT OF USING CYLINDER CHOKE AND LEAD SLUGS.
