IFCEN Objectives
•  To build upon the French elite educational
system for engineers
•  To foster synergies between the French
experience in training nuclear engineers and the
high quality teaching resources in China;
•  to train outstanding students for advanced
research and administration in nuclear power

Key Points
1.  An initial impulse and a subsequent strong commitment from both
the French & Chinese governments.
2.  A strong support from industrial partners : EDF, AREVA, CGNPC
3.  A specific school, dedicated to nuclear engineering, to comply with
real, strategic and long-term requirements of the nuclear industry.
4.  IFCEN has « customers » with high expectations (CGNPC, the
Guangdong Province,…)
5.  IFCEN is fully part of one (and only one) major Chinese university.
6.  Five french partners : Grenoble INP, CEA/INSTN, Mines de Nantes,
Chimie de Paris, Chimie de Montpellier sharing a good practice of
the « french way of teaching » (learning by doing)
7.  Foster the development of a mutual safety culture.
–  Nuclear Safety is a common property at the world
level.
