Public Sector Disclosure Act: On March 24, 2016 the Province of Ontario released the
salaries of the Ontario Public Service and Broader Public Sector employees who were
paid $100,000 or more in 2015.
The Public Sector Disclosure Act requires the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville to
disclose annually the names, positions, salaries and taxable benefits of employees paid
$100,000 or more in the previous calendar year. On February 29th of this year, the
United Counties submitted its list of employees along with their positions, salaries and
taxable benefits to the Province pursuant to the legislation. The list and information was
received by the Province.
When the list of employees was published the Province inadvertently did not include the
employees for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. Therefore, in order to ensure
openness and transparency, the Counties has published the missing names and
information on its website (Media Releases).
The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act applies to the provincial government; Crown
agencies and corporations; Ontario Power Generation and subsidiaries; publicly funded
organizations such as hospitals, municipalities, school boards, universities and colleges;
and not-for-profit organizations that meet a funding threshold.
