Jean-Paul Bailly, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Le Groupe La Poste has
decided not to complete his term of office (Nov. 2014) and will leave his position as
soon as his successor has been appointed
On 4 July, Jean-Paul Bailly presented the strategic directions, financial projections and
work programmes to the Board of Directors for the coming years at Le Groupe La
Poste. The Board of Directors and shareholders took note of the Group's strategic
project and the financial outlook as well as the deepening of the work areas and their
schedule.
The priorities will be developed and implemented immediately over coming five
years, that is to say far beyond Jean-Paul Bailly's current term of office which is set to
end in November 2014.
"I have received unanimous approval from the public authorities and shareholders to
put an end to my current term of office in a few weeks due to personal and familyrelated reasons and with the intention of leaving my successor all of the scope, time
and freedom required to carry out the Group's strategic project with the full support
of the management team and every single postman", stated Jean-Paul Bailly.
"Such a decision has also been made to ensure a quick, smooth and professional
transition and therefore avoid leaving the Group in a state of limbo which inevitably
happens in the few months before a term of office comes to an end."
The Board of Directors praised the action taken by Jean-Paul Bailly and congratulated
him on his 11-year term of office which not only gave Le Groupe La Poste the
opportunity to become a major player in both physical and digital exchange flows, but
also grow as a diversified group operating internationally, ready to take up the major
economic, social and societal challenges of the future.
