Following its 30th anniversary and the 25th anniversary
of the Fall of the Berlin Wall, the Crans Montana Forum is launching a key Initiative

The first annual Session of the
Crans Montana Forum took place in 1990
just after the fall of the Berlin Wall, in order
to establish pathways between the new
Eastern Democracies and the West. The
Forum well and truly accomplished this
mission, being the only Organization to
take on such an initiative at that very
moment.
La première session annuelle du Forum de
Crans Montana s’est tenue en 1990, au
moment de la chute du Mur de Berlin, afin
de mettre en place un lien entre l’Est
devenu démocratique et l’Ouest. Le Forum
a accompli brillamment cette mission, étant
la seule Organisation à avoir pris, à temps,
une telle initiative.
Actually, the classic East-West relationship
has outrun its concept. Today the agenda
is to consolidate, as a new group, the
democracies emerged from the downfall of
Communism. A new World power is about
to appear on the international stage. It
may increase continuously its Economic
and Political influence in a global
framework of confidence and cooperation.
Cette relation basique est-ouest est
aujourd’hui dépassée dans son concept. La
création d’un nouvel ensemble propre aux
nouvelles démocraties nées de la chute du
communisme est plus que jamais à l’ordre
du jour. Une nouvelle puissance mondiale
est à même d’apparaître qui doit accroître
chaque jour son influence politique et son
potentiel économique dans un cadre global
de confiance et de coopération.
Indeed, this great Region represents the
alternative potential of growth for the
World. It is here that the hope which has
been notably lacking due to the recent
economic, financial and security crises, can
be reborn.
C’est dans cette grande Région que se
trouve le potentiel alternatif de croissance
de demain. C’est là que l’espoir qui a
tellement fait défaut depuis la survenance
récente des crises économique, financière
et sécuritaire peut renaître.
The mission of the Crans Montana Forum
on Central to Far-Eastern Europe is
therefore to be dedicated to the Regional
and the World integration of Central and
Eastern European States, from the Atlantic
Ocean to the Pacific Ocean with a key
focus: restoring confidence !
La mission du Forum de Crans Montana de
l’Europe Centrale à l’Extrême Orientale est
donc de se consacrer à l’intégration
régionale et mondiale des Etats de l’Europe
Centrale et de l’Est, de l’Atlantique au
Pacifique
avec
une
préoccupation
constante : restaurer la confiance !
This new Forum is obviously a Crans
Montana Forum enjoying the benefit of its
network, reputation and good will. Its aims
are to

(1) work on the creation and
reinforcement of the social, political and
economic links within the great Region
itself
and
(2) to stimulate the development of each
country’s
Economic
International
Relations, all types of Cooperation and
Partnership and Foreign Direct Investment

renforcement

sociaux,
économiques et politiques à l’intérieur de la
grande Région elle-même
et de
(2) stimuler le développement des relations
économiques internationales de chaque
pays ainsi que tous types de Coopération,
partenariats et Investissement étranger
Every country is invited to join this
Initiative from Central Europe (from Tallinn
to Iran), passing through South Eastern
Europe, the CIS Member States, the
Caucasus up to the People’s Republic of
China.
Les Etats invités à rejoindre cette Initiative
composent l’Europe Centrale, de Tallinn à
l’Iran en passant par l’Europe du Sud-Est, les
pays membres de la CEI en passant par le
Caucase jusqu’à la République Populaire de
Chine.
This is a huge and unique group which
represents a decisive Economic driving
force for the whole World, and whose
characteristics, concerns and Integration
process, deserve, in the framework of a
renewed confidence, the creation of this
new Organization.

The Crans Montana Forum on Central to
Far-Eastern Europe is at first a major
annual event to take place for its first
session of 2016 in an outstanding historical
Palace of Vienna (Austria). It will then
move amongst the various capitals.

un événement majeur et annuel qui se
tiendra en 2016, à Vienne dans un
magnifique Palais historique. Par la suite il

Highly specialized sessions, on technical or
regional and national themes will be
organized, the year long, in partnership
with the Governments and the major
international companies.
