Re: Participation in Link Community Development’s Morocco Hitch
The Hitcher in possession of this letter is a registered participant in the Morocco Hitch, a charitable
event raising money for Link Community Development International (registered charity number
1048007/SCO037959), taking place between March and April 2016. The event is a hitch-hike which
will begin in the UK and end in Morocco.
Link works in Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, and Uganda at all levels of the education system – including
with governments and communities – to help ensure that children going to school are receiving a

Hitch has been organised by Link for 24 years, in which time nearly 9,000 people have safely completed
the journey across Europe. Link takes the safety of its participants very seriously – we operate a 24hour emergency mobile helpline, track all Hitchers during the event, make all participants attend a
compulsory Health and Safety briefing and work closely with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
throughout the event.
Hitch-hiking on motorway hard shoulders is illegal and dangerous both to Hitchers and drivers. All
participants are made aware of this and told not to do it. The only exceptions are hitch-hiking from
toll booths and service stations. Hitchhiking on smaller roads is perfectly legal in all the countries
through which Hitchers travel.
The Hitcher in possession of this letter has supplied us with full contact details, passport details, details
of their next of kin, insurance and additionally will be raising £295 in sponsorship in order to
participate in this event. All donations will be forwarded to Link by June 2016 at the latest.
