Notre système de numération est basé selon des multiples de 10. Nous enseignons
aux enfants à reconnaître la valeur d’un chiffre selon sa position dans un nombre.
Les enfants utilisent du matériel de manipulation pour démontrer la valeur d’un chiffre. Le matériel est
divisé selon différente valeur et peut être utilisé pour démontrer un nombre entier ou une fraction.
Démontrer un nombre entier
1 cube
= un (1)
1 bande
= 1 dizaine (10)
1 carré plat
= 1 centaine (100)
1 gros cube
= 1 millier (1000)
Donc, le nombre 125 pourrait être représenté de cette façon :
