1. RAISON / REASON
Le but de document est de décrire une procédure pour la mise en place de la balise KANNAD 406 Auto dans
son conteneur.
The purpose of this document is to describe a procedure to put the KANNAD 406 Auto beacon into its container.
2. EFFECTIVITE / EFFECTIVITY
Cette Service Letter est applicable aux balises maritimes KANNAD 406 suivantes, fabriquées par MARTEC

3. PROCEDURE
Conseils avant montage / Tip before installing the beacon
Pour installer la balise dans le conteneur, il est nécessaire de maintenir la lame côté éjection (1) appuyée.
L’utilisation d’une tige cylindrique de diamètre inférieur à 7mm et de longueur mini 150mm permet de faciliter
cette manipulation.
To install the beacon into the container, the blade on the ejection side (1) must be kept pressed down. Using a
cylindrical rod of a 7mm diameter and a 150mm minimum length will help this handling.

Appuyer sur la lame côté éjection (1) (partie avant de
la balise).
Press down and hold the blade on ejection side (1)
(front part of the beacon).
Glisser la tige cylindrique (5) dans les trous
d’écoulemement d’eau (2) situés à l’avant du
container puis relâcher la lame (1).

La lame (1) restera maintenue appuyée par la tige
pendant l’installation de la balise.

Slide the cylindric rod (5) into the holes used for water
flow (2) then release the blade (1).
It will be kept down into position while installing the
beacon.
Positionner la balise et la lame (3) grâce au
détrompeur (6) situé au bas de la balise de la manière
suivante :
- Insérer la lame (3) dans le détrompeur (6) situé à
l’arrière de la balise.
Use the guide (6) on the bottom of the beacon to place
the beacon and the blade (3) as follows:

- Insert the support blade (3) into the guide (6) on the
bottom of the beacon.
Appuyer sur la balise et la mettre en place en vérifiant
que le côté de la lame insérée dans le détrompeur (3)
passe bien entre les 2 parois de la gorge arrière (4) du
conteneur.
ATTENTION : La lame doit passer exactement
entre les deux parois de la gorge et ne doit être
décalée ni à droite ni à gauche.
Press down and place the beacon into position.
Carefully check that both sides of the blade (3)
inserted in the guide of the beacon are within the 2
sides of the rear groove (4) of the container.

CAUTION: The blade (3) must be positioned
exactly in the middle of the groove (4) and must
not be neither to the left nor to the right.

Replier l’antenne sur la balise et la maintenir
appuyée.
Fold the antenna over the beacon and keep it pressed
down.

Insérer les charnières (7) du boîtier inférieur dans les
encoches (8) du couvercle supérieur.
Insert the hinges (7) of the lower housing into the
notches (8) of the upper cover.

Fermer le couvercle tout en maintenant l’antenne
repliée sur la balise
Relâcher l’antenne dés qu’elle ne peut plus se
déplier.
Close the upper cover while keeping the antenna
folded on top of the beacon.
Release the antenna as soon as it cannot unfold any
more.
Passer le cadenas dans le trou de la tête de vis.
Slide the locking hook through the hole of the screw
head.
Fermer le cadenas en rabattant la partie amovible.
Lock the locking hook by rotating the large hinged
flap.

Enlever la tige cylindrique du conteneur.
Remove the rod from the container.
