Why would you like to become a Director on the CMHA National Board CMHA? / Pourquoi
souhaitez-vous devenir un directeur du Conseil nationale de l'ACSM?
I have always had the national connection no matter what positions I have held in the past. While President of the
Provincial College I was on the National Board of College Presidents. While on the Newfoundland Board for School
Counsellors, I was on the National Board as well (examples in my resumé).
Usually, the overall strategic direction is set as the national level. It is advantageous to be part of what is
happening nationally and be part of the success of the organization’s mental health national strategy. It helps with
the provision of leadership, direction and vision in your own province. It provides an excellent opportunity to be
part of a national group, setting a national direction. One learns a lot from an interesting group of people from
across the country. You have an invaluable network of expertise.
I feel my expertise, experience and involvement in the past will allow me to contribute to the strategic initiatives
and policy direction being set by the National Board. This only enhances my ability to contribute in my own
province.
J'ai toujours eu un lien national, quels que soient les postes que j'ai occupés dans le passé. Alors que j'étais
présidente du collège provincial, je faisais partie du conseil d'administration national de College Presidents. Alors
que je faisais partie du conseil de Terre-Neuve pour les conseillers scolaires, je faisais également partie du conseil
d'administration national (exemples dans mon CV).
Habituellement, l'orientation stratégique globale est définie au niveau national. Il est avantageux de participer à ce
qui se passe à l'échelle nationale et de participer à la réussite de la stratégie nationale en santé mentale de
l'organisation. Cela contribue à l'apport d'un leadership, d'une orientation et d'une vision dans votre propre
province. Cela offre une excellente occasion de participer au sein d'un groupe national, qui établit une orientation
nationale. On apprend beaucoup d'un groupe de personnes intéressantes provenant de partout au pays. Vous avec
un réseau d'expertise inestimable.
J'estime que mon expertise, mon expérience et ma participation passée me permettront de contribuer aux
initiatives stratégiques et à l'orientation des politiques établies par le Conseil d'administration national. Cela
améliore ma capacité de contribuer dans ma propre province.
