Montréal Resale Market Performed Well in 2008

The median price of a single-family home in the Montréal
Metropolitan Area grew by 6 per cent in 2008 compared to
2007 while, overall, residential sales slowed by 7 per cent.
Furthermore, sales in the Montréal Metropolitan Area were
down 29 per cent in December 2008 compared to the
same period last year.

Notices of Sale on Expired Listings are Now Possible!
The lifting of conditions sometimes occurs after the expiry of the brokerage contract. We have therefore
made it possible to publish notices of sale on expired listings! Listing agents now have 90 days following the
expiry date of their brokerage contract to publish a notice of sale.
Setting the Location of Your Listings is Now Mandatory
When brokerloading new listings, you must confirm their geographic location on the map in the "Legal
Description" section of the brokerloading system. This became mandatory on December 18, 2008.
Two New Videos are Now Online
In a new GMREB TV video, France Waddell, Manager of Professional Practices at the Québec Federation
of Real Estate Boards, discusses the criteria used to determine whether an agent is the efficient cause of

In the United States as in Canada, training via the Internet (in a virtual class) is growing steadily. There are
many advantages to this form of training – there are no problems with transportation or parking, you do not
waste time sitting in traffic, etc. And furthermore, you have access to high-quality training that is easy to
follow, fast and efficient. The Collège already offers the "Real Estate Agent" and "Real Estate Broker"
Programs in a virtual classroom setting. To meet the demand, several continuing education Web seminars
will also be added to the 2009 schedule.
