To be honest, my preference is (in Lyons) more "popular" kitchen, so I'd rather go:
to taste some oysters at the house of Merle or the house of Rousseau (and maybe more) in the “Halles”
of Lyons. I would take advantage of a few gourmet purchases at the numerous delicatessen shops [such as
some sausages at the inevitable Bobosse, cheeses at the inevitable Mère Richard, wines from Louis M. ...
but all other merchants do deserve your visit too.

I would keep in mind the list of the "authentic bouchon-restaurants" but would add Lobut (certainly it’s in
Villeurbanne, but so close by tram) for his Macon Clessé, which tastes like no other (famous with sliced
sausage, sautéed garlic and parsley or frogs' legs [now you know why the French were called “the frogs” by
other nations])
