Jennifer Lamb is a partner in our Tax Group in the Calgary office. Jennifer's practice is
focused on estate litigation including applications pursuant to dependants’ relief, and
acting on behalf of administrators, executors and beneficiaries in pre-trial applications,
as well as in trial and appellate work. Jennifer has extensive experience litigating
matters involving estate accounting and other estate administration issues raised by
family members, creditors, insurers and other interested parties in estate disputes.
Jennifer has worked extensively in the area of mediation as an alternative to estate
litigation. In addition, Jennifer assists clients with guardianship and trusteeship
applications.

Prior to focusing on estate litigation, Jennifer practised for five years in our Insurance
and Tort Liability Group and continues to advise clients on several commercial litigation

REPRESENTATIVE WORK

Has represented both individuals and financial institutions in the Court of
Queen’s Bench of Alberta in a variety of estate matters involving the roles of
executors, guardians and trustees, as well as in matters regarding the
interpretation and validity of wills and beneficiary designations, breach of trust
allegations, the removal and replacement of executors’ and creditors’ claims
against an estate.

Has argued applications for the re-sealing of foreign grants, the conveyancing
of real property, and the completion of distributions to beneficiaries.

Provides advice to trustees and guardians of represented adults, and has
extensive experience litigating matters under the former Dependent Adults Act
and its successor legislation, the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act,
including the renewal of orders and the passing of accounts.

Advises clients on issues arising under Personal Directives and Enduring
Powers of Attorney.​

Has represented insurers in all manner of property and personal injury claims,
including liability defences and coverage.
