Principal’s Report
1. Recent Events: Band Concert, Seniors Banquet, Grad Photos (retakes March 18), Robyn
Hood, Evening of Dance, CSI day, TADD assembly, Celebration of Excellence, staff
joint PD day – subject area based, spirit week.
2. Grade 12 provincial ELA exams last week, French Language exam this week and the
Math exams next week.
3. School exams – Feb 1-4. Feb. 5 Admin day no school, semester 2 starts Feb. 8.
4. Trips for remainder of the year: band (Bemidji & Banff), cheer (Orlando), cultural
(Europe), basketball (Edmonton).
5. Futures Hockey Program joins OP for 2016-17.
6. Feeder school visits from our incoming potential grade 9’s for next year scheduled for
late February.
7. Open House Feb. 18th – Will someone say a few words from the OP PAC (~7:10 pm)?
8. Staffing updates: Nancy Hill is retiring as of Feb 5. James McLellan & Mario Chaput are
on leaves for semester 2. Peter Andres (MA/SCI), Lydia Caligiui (ELA/GEO), Deborah
Forrester (MA/SC), Dave Brown (ELA), John MacKinnon (ELA), Thomas Fraser (SCI)
join us semester 2. Tanya Doerksen returns March and Beckey McGonigal goes on mat
leave Spring Break. Kanwal Dhindsa goes on mat leave Spring Break and Sheryl Ward
returns.
9. Preliminary Student Projection for next year is up.
