The drivers: a new generation of French talent.
Même si Alpine a connu quelques exceptions anglo-saxonnes, le soutien
aux pilotes français fait partie intégrante de l’éthique de Philippe Sinault...
Encore aujourd’hui, il tire une certaine fierté d’avoir compté parmi ses
«jeunes» un certain Benoît Tréluyer, Champion du Monde des pilotes
d’endurance 2012 et triple vainqueur des 24 Heures du Mans !
Deux fois titré en European Le Mans Series (ELMS) en 2013 et 2014,
Nelson Panciatici est en quelque sorte « l’ancien » de l’équipe (entre
guillemets bien sûr, car il n’a que 26 ans !). Arrivé à ses côtés l’an passé,
Paul-Loup Chatin (23 ans) a partagé avec lui le titre ELMS, ainsi que le
podium LMP2 des 24 Heures 2014, et ce dès sa première participation.
Lui aussi classé dans le top 5 de la catégorie dans la Sarthe, Vincent
Capillaire (39 ans) rejoint Signatech Alpine à l’issue d’une superbe saison
ELMS qu’il a conclue victorieusement à Estoril (Portugal) chez Sébastien
Loeb Racing.
Although Alpine has historically experienced some Anglo-Saxon
exceptions, support for French drivers is part of the ethics of Philippe
Sinault... He still takes pride in having counted among his «young
ones» Benoit Treluyer, who went on to became 2012 World Champion
of endurance racing drivers and three times winner of the 24 Hours of
Le Mans!
Twice winners of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) title in 2013
and 2014, Nelson Panciatici is somehow the «senior» team member
(in quotes of course, because he is only 26 years old!). At his side last
year, Paul-Loup Chatin (23) shared the ELMS title with him and the
LMP2 podium of the 24 Hours in 2014, at his first attempt. Also ranked
in the top 5 in class in La Sarthe, Vincent Capillaire (39) joins Signatech
Alpine after a superb season in ELMS which he concluded triumphantly
in Estoril (Portugal) with Sébastien Loeb Racing.

« Et après deux titres consécutifs en
European Le Mans Series, il est vrai qu’il y
avait une très forte attente pour passer en
Championnat du Monde, car ça va dans
le sens du renouveau international de la
marque Alpine. En tout cas, nous y allons
pour gagner, grâce à l’expérience des gens
de Signatech Alpine. »
« On sait que, d’une manière générale, l’endurance
a actuellement le vent en poupe, mais la catégorie
LMP2 a franchi une nouvelle étape cette année : qu’il
s’agisse du niveau des équipes ou de celui des pilotes,
ou encore de la présence de nouvelles voitures, c’est
vraiment exceptionnel. Le WEC et les 24 Heures du
Mans présentent un des plus beaux plateaux jamais
vus ces dernières années. L’endurance propose aux
jeunes pilotes bien plus qu’une alternative, car elle offre
beaucoup plus d’opportunités de carrière. C’est mon
cas, tout comme celui de Nelson et de Paul-Loup. »
« Signatech Alpine connaît bien le WEC pour y
avoir participé en 2012 et je faisais d’ailleurs
déjà partie des pilotes à cette époque. Ce ne
sera pas facile, car il faudra redécouvrir les
circuits et en découvrir certains autres (comme
le Circuit des Amériques, qui n’était pas encore
au calendrier en 2012). Mais les choses s’étaient
très bien passées il y a trois ans, donc je ne suis
pas inquiet. Il va falloir être très régulier et aller
chercher des points à chaque course. »

is currently on the rise, but the LMP2 class has
reached another milestone this year: both the level
of teams and drivers, and the presence of new
cars is truly exceptional. The WEC and Le Mans 24
Hours have one of the best grids ever seen in recent
years. Endurance racing offers much more than an
alternative to young drivers because it offers many
more career opportunities. This is so my case, as it
was with Nelson and Paul-Loup ».

« Signatech Alpine knows the WEC having
participated in 2012 and I was already part of
the driver crew at that time. It will not be easy
because we will return to some circuits and
learn new ones (like. Circuit of the Americas,
which was not yet on the calendar in 2012).
But things went well three years ago, so I’m
not worried. We must be very consistent and
go for points each race ».
