zone euro font que l’Union fait face à des déchirures sans précédent.
Les optimistes veulent croire que la crise contient le germe du renouveau ;
que l’inévitable besoin d’action gouvernementale stoppera enfin l’inexorable
dérive du Vieux Continent ; qu’il en ressortira plus compétitif et plus fort pour
renouer avec la croissance. Face au désastre, La Corée, l’Allemagne et d’autres
l’ont déjà fait. L’Europe le peut également, pensent-ils.
Europe is in distress. The imbalances between the economic performances
of the countries in the Eurozone have put unprecedented strains on the
Union, generating ripples of unpredictability through the markets. Optimists
believe that from crisis springs opportunity, that the inescapable need
for concerted government action will arrest the Old Continent’s hitherto
inexorable drift and that it will emerge leaner, stronger and a world beater
once again. Faced with disaster, Korea, Germany and others did it before.
Europe can too, so they believe.

niveau se rassembleront au GRI Europe à Paris pour esquisser de quoi l’avenir
