Plongeur depuis plus de 25 ans, Denis a tourné dans de nombreux endroits à travers
le monde. En 2001, il a réalisé un «Making of» du film IMAX Coral Reef Adventure.
Depuis 2005, il a notamment participé à la grande aventure du film Océans de Jacques Perrin, a réalisé des images pour les films cinématographiques Saint Jacques… La Mecque, Planète Océan, Terre des Ours 3D et dernièrement pour le film de long métrage Dark Tide avec
Halle Berry. Il a également été le Directeur de la photo pour la partie sous-marines du film IMAX 3D Searex et des films Publicitaires
Kusmi Tea, Visa, Omega, Lolë et Samsung réalisé par Bruno Aveillan
Denis a tourné pour les séries documentaires South Pacific et Shark series (BBC Natural History Unit), Clipperton (Canal+), les Nouveaux Paradis, Corse Beauté Sauvage, Survival in Wetland, Opération Lune (Arte), Carnets d’Expéditions, les émissions C’est pas Sorcier et Thalassa, le film de 90’ La Soif du Monde de Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the Killer islands series (Discovery Channel).
Denis LAGRANGE a produit et réalisé 8 documentaires de 52’ : Bleu Océan (série de 4 épisodes), Bleu comme l’atome, Le dernier sanctuaire, la Traversée des mondes, primés lors de nombreux festivals de films et actuellement La face cachée de la Lune 3D.
Depuis 2008, il est l’un des premiers opérateurs sous-marins à utiliser la RED, une caméra haute définition permettant de faire des images
en 5K. Il possède également un stock d’images sous-marines en 2D et 3D de qualité cinéma. En 2011, Denis a développé un caisson sousmarin stéréoscopique unique, équipé d’un rig à miroir et dédié à la RED Epic. En collaboration avec Comex, il a adapté ce matériel sur le
sous-marin “Remora” et développé un nouveau caisson RED Epic side by side étanche à 1000m.
En 2014, Denis utilisera un nouveau caisson pour la Sony F65, Arri Alexa, Phantom 4K et la RED Epic avec une nouvelle approche de la
prise de vue sous-marine en Studio.

Denis has over 25 years diving and filming experience around the world and holds a Masters Degree
in Finance. In 2001, he made a short documentary film about the IMAX film Coral Reef Adventure.
Then he has been part of the Disney film “Oceans”, directed by Jacques Perrin, and the feature films Saint Jacques... la Mecque, Planet
Ocean, Land of the Bears 3D and recently for Dark Tide with Halle Berry. Denis was also the DoP of the IMAX 3D film Sea Rex and
commercials like Kusmi Tea directed by Jérémy Charbit, Visa, Omega watches, Lolë White and Samsung directed by Bruno Aveillan.
Denis has produced and directed eight award winning documentaries (the Blue Oceans series, Bleu comme l’Atome, The Last Sanctuary,
The Passage and actually The Deep Side of the Moon 3D.
He filmed for the TV series: South Pacific and Shark (BBC Natural History Unit), Clipperton (Canal+), Green Paradise, Survival in
Wetland, Corsica Wild Beauty and the 90 min film Operation Moon (ARTE). He also shot for Carnet d’Expeditions, C’est pas Sorcier,
Thalassa series, La Soif du Monde 90 minutes film directed by Yann Arthus Bertrand and for the Killer islands series (Discovery
Channel).
Since 2008, Denis is one of the first underwater DoP to use the RED camera. He also owns a unique underwater stock footage library in 2D
& 3D. Denis has developed high quality 3D expertise during the last few years, including the development of a unique underwater beamsplitter rig housing to shoot his stereoscopic underwater footage in 5k using the RED Epic camera.
With the deepsea commercial diving company “Comex”, Denis made an adaptation of his 3D RED Epic beam-splitter housing on
“Remora” Submarine, and recently developed a RED Epic side-by-side underwater housing able to reach 3000 feet
En 2014, Denis will use a unique studio underwater housing for Sony F65, Arri Alexa, Phantom 4K and RED Epic cameras with a new
approach of underwater shootings for Studio works.
