PRESENTATION DES VILLAGES
A PEEK AT OUR VILLAGES
La station des Houches offre un panorama fantastique sur les plus
hauts sommets du massif du Mont-Blanc. Depuis 1936, date de
la création du téléphérique de Bellevue, l’histoire des Houches est
étroitement liée à celle du ski de haut niveau.
D’Emile Allais à Antoine Denériaz, ce sont des générations de
champions qui se sont succédées sur cette piste réputée très
technique « La Verte des Houches », véritable patrimoine de la
vallée. C’est sur cette piste homologuée que se disputent les
épreuves de coupe du monde du célèbre Kandahar.
Avec son label Famille +, Les Houches est la station familiale
de la vallée de Chamonix. Avec en toile de fond des panoramas
magnifiques, Les Houches bénéficient d’un domaine skiable
accessible à tous.
Au sommet de la télécabine du Prarion un domaine est
spécialement aménagé pour les débutants. Les contemplatifs et
les amateurs d’histoire ne sont pas en reste puisqu’ils pourront
découvrir dans les différents hameaux des Houches, le patrimoine
bâtit. L’église du XVIIème siècle, les oratoires, chapelles, le musée
montagnard ainsi que les très belles fermes et maisons de pays.

The resort of Les Houches offers a breathtaking panorama of the
highest summits of the Mont Blanc range. Since the creation of
the Bellevue cable car in 1936, Les Houches’ history has been
closely linked with that of top level skiing. From Emile Allais to
Antoine Denériaz, the flame has been handed down from one
generation of champions to the next, negotiating with talent “La
Verte des Houches”, the legendary ski run renown for its technical
difficulties, regarded by inhabitants of the valley as an essential
part of their heritage. It is on this World Cup approved ski run that
the prestigious Kandahar World Cup events take place.
With its Family+ label, Les Houches is the Chamonix Valley’s
family-friendly resort and with the most magnificent panoramas
as its backdrop, Les Houches offers a ski area that is accessible
to skiers of all levels.
At the summit of the Prarion gondola lift a ski area has been
specially prepared for beginners. Our more contemplative visitors
and history buffs will find that they are amply catered for, as they
discover the architectural heritage of the different hamlets of Les
Houches. A church dating from the seventeenth century, oratories,
chapels, a mountain life museum as well as the valley’s very
beautiful farms and houses are amongst the many things to visit.

The villages of Les Houches and Servoz are located in the Haute-Savoie region in the legendary Chamonix
valley, at the foot of Mont Blanc, on the Italian and Swiss borders. Servoz and Les Houches, a resort village,
belong to the Chamonix Valley’s Community of Communes, created in 2010.
Servoz à 800 mètres d’altitude est la porte d’entrée de la vallée
de Chamonix. Servoz a su préserver intacte son architecture, ses
cultures et sa nature.
Village authentique et traditionnel ou les activités agropastorales
et touristiques sont liées. Le village se distingue par la richesse de
son patrimoine bâtit, ses fermes traditionnelles, bachals, fours à
pain et oratoires sont autant de marque du passé rural de Servoz.
La qualité de son environnement en font toute sa richesse.
En hiver, lorsque les conditions météorologiques sont réunies, le
village de Servoz offre un véritable terrain de jeux avec une piste
de luge en plein centre, des itinéraires raquettes balisés dont la
plupart offrent les plus beaux panoramas sur la chaîne du Montblanc.
Eté comme hiver, les villages des Houches et de Servoz misent

environment and of their exceptional built heritage with its 360°
view across the most spectacular summits of the Alps.

History and heritage
Entre 8500 et 5000 avant J-C le glacier recouvrait toute la
haute vallée de l’Arve sur 1500 mères d’épaisseur. C’est vers
cette époque que le territoire des Houches se libère petit à petit
du glacier. Au Néolithique, vers 3000 avant J-C les premiers
occupants du site sculptent les pierres à cupules découvertes à la
fin du XIXème siècle sur le versant de Coupeau. Au cours des siècles
suivants la haute vallée de l’Arve se peuple peu à peu.
Au XIIIème siècle une petite communauté monacale s’installe à
Chamonix. Pour protéger ses terres le Prieur du lieu les place
sous la protection de Béatrice de Faucigny qui fait ériger un
château fort, le château St-Michel dont les murailles sont encore
visibles et accessibles aujourd’hui au-dessus du hameau du lac
à proximité de Servoz. A l’époque médiévale, sous l’influence
des religieux l’exploitation estivale des alpages se développe. De
cette économie pastorale est né un habitat adapté aux contraintes
climatiques et à l’exploitation. Ces fermes et chalets d’alpage
dont les plus anciens datent des XVII et XVIIIème constituent encore
aujourd’hui un patrimoine rural très important.
Au XVIIIème la communauté des Houches se sépare de la paroisse
de Chamonix. L’église St Jean-Baptiste est alors construite,
de style baroque. Autour de cet édifice culturel le chef-lieu de
la commune s’organise. Le patrimoine religieux est très riche,
chapelles rurales baroques, chapelles mariales, oratoires et croix
et surtout la statue monumentale du Christ-Roi érigée vers 1930
par l’abbé Delassiat inspirée de celle de la Baie de Rio au Brésil.
La statue est consacrée le 19 août 1934 devant une grande
assemblée de pèlerins. La mutation de l’activité économique vers
le tourisme estival puis vers les sports d’hiver s’opère dès la fin du
XIXème avec le développement des voies de communication, (route
le Fayet-Chamonix en 1860, arrivée du train en 1901), des 1ers
hôtels, des remontées mécaniques, de l’immobilier.

Le tunnel du Mont-Blanc (1959-1965) et la réalisation de la route
blanche (1985 -1990) ouvrent désormais les villages de Servoz et
des Houches à l’espace européen.
Between 8,500 and 5,000 BC a glacier a mile thick covered the entire
upper Arve Valley. It was around this time that the land where Les
Houches stands today gradually emerged from under the glacier.
In the Neolithic age, around 3,000 BC, the first humans to settle in
the area carved the cupule stones discovered on the mountainside
at Coupeau in the late 19th century. Over the following centuries the
upper Arve Valley gradually became populated.
In the 13th century a small monastic community settled at Chamonix.
To protect the land there, the prior sought the protection of Béatrice
of Faucigny, who built a castle, the Château St Michel, whose walls
are still today visible and can be visited above Hameau du Lac near
Servoz. During the Middle Ages, under the influence of the religious
community, the Alpine meadows were increasingly used for summer
grazing. This pastoral economy gave rise to a settlement adapted
to the harsh weather conditions and agricultural lifestyle. These
mountain farmhouses and chalets, the oldest of which date from the
17th and 18th centuries, are still today a very important part of our rural
heritage. In the 18th century the community of Les Houches separated
from the parish of Chamonix. It was then that the Church of St John the
Baptist was built, in the baroque style. The commune’s administrative
centre grew up around this building of cultural importance. The area
boasts a rich religious heritage, with rural baroque chapels, Marian
chapels, wayside shrines and crosses, and above all the monumental
statue of Christ the King erected in 1930 by Abbot Delassiat, inspired
by the statue of Christ the Redeemer at Rio de Janeiro. The statue was
consecrated on 19 August 1934 in front of a large crowd of pilgrims.
The transformation from economic activity to summer tourism and
then to winter sports came about from the end of the 19th century
onwards with the development of lines of communication (the Le
Fayet-Chamonix road in 1860 and the arrival of the railway in 1901)
and the first hotels, ski lifts and real estate developments.

The Mont Blanc Tunnel (1959-1965) and the construction of the ‘Route
Blanche’ expressway (1985-1990) then opened up the villages of
Servoz and Les Houches to the rest of Europe.

LES HOUCHES
LES HOUCHES IS LABELLED “FAMILY +”
The resort town of Les Houches is committed to offering families
the warmest welcome possible. The Family + label promoted by
the Tourist Ministry enables families to organize their stay with
the utmost confidence. Hoteliers, tourist residences, the French
Ski School (ESF), the ski lift company and several other activity
sectors also have the Family + label in Les Houches. In les
Houches, in the winter season, the kids’ club for our visiting children,
located in Les Chavants, has combined efforts with the ESF French
ski school to propose activities for our youngest visitors. In a prime
location next to the lake, the (summer) tennis courts and the ski lifts,
with magnificent views of the Mont Blanc range, children have free
access to a zone of fun modules. Two tobogganing runs have been
adapted to provide safe fun for 2 to 6 year olds and for children
over 6. From 2 years of age upwards, the ESF ski school’s Pitchoune
Club introduces the little ones to snow fun with games, tobogganing,
snowshoeing and beginner’s skis. The bigger kids from 3 to 5 years
of age can join in the fun at the Pioupiou Club, within the safety of a
secure, well-equipped garden set aside for their exclusive use. Child
minding is also available. Itineraries have also been created in Les
Houches and Servoz for 4x4 prams and strollers. Kids first!
The principal area catering for the little ones is to be found in the
leisure zone located in Les Chavants, a privileged site with magnificent
views of the Mont Blanc range. On the snow front you will find the
ESF French ski school’s children’s garden, the child-minding centre,
and fun foam modules enhancing the children’s leisure zone.

LES HOUCHES STATION LABELLISéE « FAMILLE + »
La station des Houches est engagée dans une démarche
d’accueil pour les familles. Le label Famille + soutenu par
le Ministère Délégué au Tourisme, permet aux familles de
préparer leur séjour en toute confiance. Hôteliers, résidence
de tourisme, ESF, remontées mécaniques et plusieurs
secteurs d’activité sont également labellisés aux Houches.
Aux Houches, en hiver, le club enfants touristique des Chavants et
l’ESF travaillent de concert pour proposer des activités aux plus
jeunes. La garderie bénéficie d’une vue magnifique sur la chaîne
du mont-Blanc, à côté du lac, des tennis (en été) et des remontées
mécaniques. Toute une zone de modules est à disposition des
enfants librement. Deux pistes de luge sont adaptées pour des
parcours en toute sécurité pour les 2/6 ans et les + de 6 ans.
Dès l’âge de 2 ans le club Pitchoune de l’ESF initie les tout petits
aux plaisirs de la neige sous forme de jeux en pratiquant la luge,
raquettes et patinettes. Les + grands de 3 à 5 ans profitent du
Club Pioupiou dans un jardin dédié, sécurisé et très bien équipé.
Crocski le matin, ski et repas de midi, Crocski l’après-midi, repas
et ski. Garderie en complément possible, selon le planning des
parents. Itinéraires pour poussette 4x4 dans les villages des
Houches et Servoz. Les enfants d’abord !
L’accueil des petits est essentiellement concentré sur la zone
de loisirs des Chavants, un endroit privilégié duquel la vue sur la
chaîne du Mont-Blanc est splendide. En front de neige, le jardin
d’enfants de l’ESF, la garderie et des modules de mousse pour
agrémenter la zone de loisir des petits.
Soirée sur les pistes
Pour passer une soirée originale sur les pistes, Le restaurant
« La Ferme » et l’ESF proposent une sortie au clair de lune
encadrée par un moniteur de ski. Atelier Arva, lecture de paysage
ou apprendre toutes les ficelles de la construction d’un igloo,
c’est ce qui vous est proposé avant un repas savoyard complet
au restaurant ou sous la yourte, agrémenté d’une animation
musicale ou d’un conteur, puis descente en ski aux flambeaux
pour rejoindre le village. Montée par la dernière cabine vers 17h,
descente au village vers 22h30. (8 pers. max par moniteur niveau 3 étoiles pour les enfants - classe 2 ; virages en parallèles
sur piste rouge pour les adultes ; Forfait de ski obligatoire).

AN EVENING OUT ON THE SLOPES
For an original evening out on the slopes, the restaurant « La Ferme » and the
ESF French ski school, propose an evening under the stars in the company of
a ski instructor. Join the ARVA workshop to fine-tune your avalanche search
techniques, learn how to identify the important aspects of the mountain
landscape and pick up handy tips on igloo construction (you just never know
when you might need one!) before settling down to a full Savoyard meal in the
warmth of the yurt, with musical entertainment or a few tales well told, followed
by torchlight descent to the village. Take the last cabin lift up at around 17 :00,
the torchlight descent to the village is at around 22h30. (8 pers. max per ski
instructor - 3 star (Class 2) level required for children wishing to participate;
adults must be able to make parallel turns on a red run; ski pass compulsory).

CROSS-COUNTRY AND SNOWSHOEING
OR PEDESTRIAN ITINERARIES
Aux Houches les pistes le fond et de raquettes se partagent
3 secteurs, les Chavants, avec 2 pistes de 2km800 dont
l’itinéraire contourne le lac des Chavants et descend sur le
parcours de santé d’été, et ceux du sommet du Prarion et
du téléphérique de Bellevue qui bénéficient d’un panorama
exceptionnel à 360°. Un circuit damé mais non tracé
accessible aux piétons avec ou sans raquettes et au ski
de fond. 2 itinéraires combinent passages en forêts et champs
de neige. Une liaison est possible vers le col de Voza selon
l’enneigement. Environ 6 kms. L’accès aux pistes de fond et
raquettes est gratuit. Pour accéder aux itinéraires du Prarion, il
faut emprunter la télécabine (accès payant forfait piéton).
The cross-country and snowshoeing itineraries in Les Houches are
divided into 3 sectors: Les Chavants offers 2 tracks, 2800m in length, edging around the Chavant Lake and descending the summer
fitness trail and then there are tracks to be found at the summit of
Prarion and of the Bellevue cable car, offering a spectacular 360°
panorama. There is also a circuit groomed but not traced that is
accessible for pedestrians, with or without snowshoes, and crosscountry skiers. There are 2 itineraries combining passages through
forests and across snowfields. A link with Col de Voza is possible when
snow cover permits. Approximately 6 km. Access to cross-country and
snowshoeing tracks is free of charge. Access to the Prarion itineraries is
via the gondola lift with the purchase of a pedestrian pass.

Handisport - Taxi Ski - la glisse pour tous
Depuis plusieurs années la station des Houches s’est
engagée à améliorer l’accueil des personnes à mobilités
réduites et à permettre un accès aux skieurs handicapés. Les
accès des gares de la télécabine du Prarion sont construits
de plain-pied pour faciliter l’embarquement des fauteuils
et des tandems ski. En été elle permet la pratique du F.T.T
tandem tout terrain.
Précurseur dans l’enseignement de l’handiski, L’ESF des Houches
en collaboration avec « loisirs Assis Evasion » a toujours été
impliquée dans la démarche du ski assis et propose à toute
personne à mobilité réduite l’apprentissage du ski en autonomie
ou la promenade en tandem ski.
Prêt de matériel adapté. Le taxi-ski est un moyen très pratique
pour se rendre sur les pistes, rejoindre un restaurant d’altitude ou
des amis lorsqu’on n’est pas en capacité de le faire en ski.

GLIDING FUN FOR EVERYONE
For several years now the resort of Les Houches has been
committed to improving access for persons with reduced
mobility and to enabling disabled skiers to gain access to
the ski runs. Access to the Prarion departure stations has
been built level to the ground to facilitate loading of skichairs and tandems. In the summer this enables all-terrain
wheel chair tandems to gain access to the area. A precursor
in the teaching of disabled skiers, the ESF French ski school of
Les Houches, in collaboration with “Loisirs Assis Evasion” (Seated
leisure getaways) has been constantly involved in making seated
skiing possible and can provide lessons in autonomous skiing
or tandem ski outings for any person with mobility issues. It is
possible to borrow the equipment needed. Should you be unable
to ski, the ski-taxi is a very practical means of transport to the ski
runs, to an altitude restaurant or to meet up with friends.

LA VERTE DES HOUCHES, A LEGENDARY SKI RUN
La Verte des Houches, véritable patrimoine local,
piste pour champions. La Verte est une véritable
piste noire. A sa création en 1946 les couleurs des
classifications de pistes sont inversées, le Vert
est alors la couleur de la difficulté, d’où son nom.
Longue de 3343 mètres pour 870 mètres de dénivelé,
la Verte des Houches fait partie du circuit alpin des coupes du
monde. La Verte est connue pour ses passages difficiles, La
Cassure, Le Rocher Blanc, le Goulet, la Bosse à Perrot, le S à
Pessi, le passage de la Fis, le Schuss Battendier. Elle accueille
régulièrement le Kandahar, coupe du monde de descente et
combiné messieurs.
Les Houches’ legendary ski run, La Verte, is
regarded as a veritable local heritage and as the
ski run of champions. La Verte is a genuine black
run. At the time of its creation the colour coding
was the opposite of today’s, with green indicating
the greatest difficulty, hence its name. 3343 metres
long for 870m vertical difference, la Verte in Les Houches belongs
to the World Cup alpine racing circuit. It is known for its difficult
sections - la Cassure, le Rocher Blanc, le Goulet, le Bosse à Perrot,
Pessi’s S, Fis’ passage and Battendier’s schuss and is often
the venue for the Kandahar, the men’s world cup downhill and

Mont-Blanc escalade
Coup de neuf à la salle d’escalade
des Houches
Deux guides et anciens du PGHM de Chamonix, Frédéric Boidin
et Cyrille Gravier reprennent la gestion de la salle. Quelques
modifications ont été apportées à l’agencement des lieux dont la
réfection de l’espace bloc. La salle dispose de 1250 m2 d’espace
dédiés à la grimpe. Des voies de difficulté 4 à 9a. Les plus ardues
ont été dessinées par Romain Desgranges, grimpeur de renom qui
fait partie des 5 meilleurs mondiaux.
Nouveau cet hiver : 5 lignes de cascade sur glace seront
aménagées sur un mur extérieur de la salle d’escalade de 7 à 10
mètres de hauteur. Ce nouvel espace permettra un entraînement
sur glace tout l’hiver.

La Vallée versant cheval
Skijoering et randos neige
Arrivée de Scandinavie où elle a vu le jour il y a fort longtemps,
l’activité de skijoering était pratiquée par les paysans suédois
pour faciliter leurs déplacements. La discipline a été remise aux
goûts du jour il y a une vingtaine d’années, sous l’impulsion du
pionnier Jacques Fillietroz.
Christophe André propose des balades et initiations dans toute la
vallée de Chamonix pour cavaliers débutants ou confirmés.
Le centre équestre du Mont-Blanc qui a ouvert ses portes il y a
quelques mois au sommet de la route des granges aux Houches,
dispose d’un manège couvert de 1000m2 permettant une activité

Patinoire
La patinoire artificielle des Houches a fait un virage à 180°
permettant de dégager de l’espace pour une aire multi-activités
outdoor ouverte pour tous. (Basket, hand ball, volley…).

MONT BLANC CLIMBING
The indoor climbing walls in Les Houches have been
spruced up and two mountain guides, previous members
of the prestigious Chamonix PGHM (high mountain military police
group), Frédéric Boidin and Cyrille Gravier, have taken over
management of the indoor climbing gym. Some modifications
have been made to the installation, such as repairs to the block
climbing area.
The gym offers 1250m2 entirely dedicated to climbing, with
climbing route levels from 4 to 9a, the most difficult route
designed by Romain Desgranges, a climber of renown, one of the
world’s top 5.
New this winter: 5 ice-climbing routes of 7 to 10 metres will be
installed on an outside wall of the climbing gym to allow for iceclimbing training throughout the winter.

Skijoring and ski touring
Originating in Scandinavia a long time ago, skijoring was favored
by Swedish peasants to facilitate travelling about in the winter
landscape. The discipline was revived twenty years or so ago by
the pioneer Jacques Fillietroz.
Christophe André proposes excursions and initiation to the sport
for beginners to confirmed riders.
The Mont Blanc equestrian centre opened a few months ago at
the top of La route des Granges in Les Houches. It offers a 1000m
covered riding arena to enable riders to enjoy their activity all year
long. Stalls are available for horse boarding.

The artificial ice-skating rink in Les Houches has undergone a 180°

The animal photographer, Gilles Petetin, will lead the course.

technical and artistic advice and an analysis of the photos taken
during the course. He will even let you try his 600mm long
focal length lenses! This is a brilliant opportunity for amateur
photographers to progress in a unique landscape with views

FERME DE JEROME
Nouveauté cet hiver aux Houches
Jérôme Garcin, agriculteur pluriactif ouvre une table d’hôte
dans sa ferme aux Houches. Une fois par semaine un repas de
produits du terroir sera proposé pour une quinzaine de convives
sur réservation ; viande de bœuf, veau, farcement et autres diots
accompagnés de vin du pays.
Jérôme en plus de son travail sur les pistes élève une vingtaine de
vaches noires de la race d’Hérens. C’est par une ouverture vitrée
dans la salle à manger que les convives pourront voir l’ensemble
du troupeau dans l’étable.
Un concept ludique et un accueil personnalisé qui permet de mieux
comprendre le métier d’agriculteur éleveur et sa problématique.

Jérôme Garcin, a multi-activity farmer, is opening a table d’hôte
at his farm in Les Houches. Once a week, a meal composed of
local products may be reserved at his farm for a dozen or so
dinner guests; beef, veal, farcement and diot sausages served with
regional wine are just a few of the delights awaiting you.In addition
to his work on the ski fields, Jérôme raises a herd of twenty or
so black Hérens cows who can be seen by the dinner guests
through a glass panel in the wall separating their stable from the
dining room. Jérôme’s is a novel concept and with his farm-style
hospitality he looks forward to providing a vivid insight into the
professional world and home environment of the farmer-breeder.
Jérôme and his wife look forward to sharing their passion for the

Une stratégie pour la valorisation des produits du territoire
« Les Goûts du Mont-Blanc » s’inscrit dans un plus vaste projet
décliné sur de nombreux fronts et faisant partie du PIT (Plan
Intégré Transfrontalier) de l’Espace Mont-Blanc.
Le projet « Saveurs d’Hauteur » a l’objectif prioritaire de conserver
l’agriculture de montagne, par le biais de la valorisation partagée
des produits caractéristiques de ce territoire transfrontalier. Les
synergies mises en œuvre serviront à l’essor et à la naissance
d’un marché de proximité durable partagé par les opérateurs
des trois pays de l’Espace Mont-Blanc. Les pays qui entourent
le Mont-Blanc s’engagent ainsi dans un défi collectif : réaliser un
développement durable et partagé de leur territoire en mettant
chaque fois à l’honneur un territoire différent. La maison du
Lieutenant nouvellement acquise s’inscrit dans cette démarche et
accueillera début décembre le salon œunologique.

countries of the Mont Blanc area. The countries surrounding Mont
Blanc are committed to rising together to a joint challenge: the
durable and shared development of their territory, by ensuring that
each territory takes its turn in the limelight. The newly acquired
“Lieutenant’s House” participates in this project and will host an
oenology fair at the beginning of December.

LES HOUCHES - LA FERME A PAYOT CHANGES HANDS
L’ancienne « Ferme à Payot » qui avait abrité plusieurs années
la chèvrerie des Houches vient de changer de propriétaire.
C’est Gérard Berrux qui reprend le flambeau mais pour une
toute autre activité. En effet Gérard cultive des céréales pour la
fabrication du pain Chibon qu’il vend sur la plupart des marchés
du Pays du Mont-Blanc. Il a installé son laboratoire dans la
ferme et jouit désormais d’un bel espace pour son activité et
l’aménagement de silos pour stockage du blé, mais aussi pour
tous les projets agro-pastoraux en cours de concrétisation. Son
idée est de cultiver sur place les céréales mais aussi d’élever
quelques veaux et 2 ou 3 vaches laitières pour les nourrir. Mais
comme Gérard est un hyper actif, il souhaite également organiser
un marché de producteurs locaux directement dans sa ferme les
mercredis après-midi.
Producteurs de légumes, de viande transformée (saucissons,
pâtés, terrines), de fromages etc… triés parmi toutes ses
connaissances et amis. Cette idée en complète adéquation avec
la conservation de l’agriculture de montagne s’inscrit dans la
logique du développement des produits du terroir.
De plus, cette nouvelle activité sera aussi l’occasion pour les
familles de venir visiter son laboratoire le mercredi après-midi et
ainsi de comprendre comment le pain est fabriqué.

Having housed Les Houches’ goat farm for several years, what
was once «Payot’s farm» has just changed hands.
Gérard Berrux is now at the helm but for an entirely different
activity. Gérard is cultivating cereal for the fabrication of his Chibon
bread that he sells at most of the markets throughout the Mont
Blanc area. He has set up his laboratory at the farm and now has
the perfect space for his activity, to set up his silos to stock his
wheat and for all the agro-pastoral projects he is launching. His
idea is to cultivate the cereals he uses on site and to raise a few
calves and 2 or 3 dairy cows to feed as well. But this evidently
isn’t enough to keep Gérard busy, he also wants to organize a local
producers’ market directly at his farm on Wednesday afternoons.
Local producers of vegetables, prepared meats (dried sausage,
pâtés, terrines), cheeses etc. chosen from amongst all his friends
and relations will titillate the visitors’ taste buds with their
products. Gérard’s idea is completely in harmony with the project
of conserving mountain agriculture and is consistent with the
primary objective of developing local products.
Furthermore, Gérard’s new activity will give families the opportunity
of coming to visit his laboratory on Wednesday afternoons to get an
inside look into how his bread is made.
