A cable of 2 x 0,8 Ø is recommended. Passive pulsers allow sharing of a common extension cable with the temperature sensors. An alternative second input (IN2) is connected to terminals 56/57. The functionality depends on the specific version (e.g. DTF, ISPC, etc.). • Mechanical reed or relay contacts • Electronic pulsers complying with DIN 19234 (Namur) and ”open collector”circuits (Note the correct polarity shown on the wiring diagramme!) • Active pulsers. An external power source delivers the required pulse current to the galvanically isolated output. • Analogue: the flow is vonverted into a 0/4...20 mA current signal. Changing from passive to active input can be made (even on-site) by resetting the jumpers near the connection terminals. The neccessary settings are shown on the stick-on connection diagramme. (This step is only required when the installed pulser type does not correspond to the specifications given with the order). Important Flow meters may deliver pulses with very different pulse values! Only combine subunits with the same pulse value (Litres per pulse)! Debouncing If the unit is set up for mechanical pulsers, the input is fitted with a debouncing filter. This cannot be altered without reprogramming the unit. Changing the original pulse value is strictly forbidden by law if the meter is being used for accounting purposes. This also applies to changing the flow sensor position from the cold to the hot side (or vice versa) and disabling the debounce filter. VD 3-168 DEF OPTION IN 2 Flow Sensor installation The temperature sensors are installed in compliance with EN1434 either directly immersed (inside a ball valve), or contained within sleeves in the supply and return pipes. The installation must be done with the maximum care since it is the most important criterium for attaining the required accuracy. 34 Aquametro AG Relay output 50+52 70+72 74+76 78+80 Analogue output max.100mA/50V RL The standard CALEC® MB is fitted with an M-Bus-interface in compliance with EN1434-3. Output signals Electric insulation The passive analogue outputs are galvanically isolated from each other. The active outputs are connected via common earth. They are galvanically connected with the auxiliary voltage and the option cards, but galvanically isolated from the rest of the electronics. The available option cards are connected, as indicated in the wiring diagramme, to terminals 50 ..53 (socket 1), 70 .. 73 (socket 2), 74 .. 77 (socket 3) and 78...81 (socket 4). Depending on the particular type of card inserted, the following are available per card: two contact power circuits, two analogue power circuits, one RS232 interface or one RS 485 interface. The identification of an inserted card, its function, setup and terminals are indicated in the display menu under ”Field configuration” (e.g. OUT 1Relay- Kl. 50/51 - Pulse energy1 - pulse value 1 kWh). Load resistance When using the internal auxiliary power output, the maximum load resistance of all analogue circuits must not exceed the following value: If an option terminal number is not known and no installation wiring diagramme is available, a readout of the terminals and functions as mentioned above may be helpful after switching on the unit. R V max = (Us-5)/0.02 A Otherwise, all analogue outputs should be supplied with a highercapacity external power source. Important: Never remove or insert option cards with the power on. This may lead to loss of meter data! Relay output 2 solid state relays are available per option card 2RNC or 2 RWC, which have a maximum permitted load of 10 mA AC or DC at max. 50 V. Analogue output Each power circuit can be individually configured as an active or passive analogue output. The active outputs are powered by the internal auxiliary voltage supply at a maximum of 100 mA. Aquametro AG 35 VD 3-168 DEF RS232 Communications interface The interface is powered by the auxiliary supply and it is galvanically isolated from the calculator. The signals for GND, TXD and RXD are available at the connection terminals. A signal of +10V (which can be used as DTR or RTS) is applied at a fourth terminal. The protocol used is identical to the M-Bus protocol defined in EN 1434-3:1997 and IEC 870-5. It supports 300 to 9600 baud. Replacing and fixing cover • After all connections have been made, reinsert the ribbon cable with the power turned off and check that it is firmly connected. • While closing the cover, make sure that the rubber gasket is in the correct position • Tighten the cover screws uniformly and without too much torque (plastic threads) • Do not apply seals and security stickers until commissioning is completed ! Testing flow A ★ flashes on the meter display whenever there is flow. The flashing frequency is not related to the actual flow rate. The measured value of flow rate is given on the “Instantaneous values” display (Q xxxx.xxx m3/h). Testing the optional output circuits Each activation of a relay results in an increment of the corresponding event counter. By observing the index of the event counter the output function can be monitored. Check this with the ”Field configuration” - ” OUT x” - ”Function” menu. 8. Commissioning and operational checks Analogue outputs show their currents in mA. These can be checked with the ”Field configuration” - ”OUT x” - „Function” menu. The displayed value should correspond to the measured output current provided that the auxillary voltage is applied and the circuit resistance is correct. During commissioning, the functionality of the heat metering system is checked in order to guarantee the correctness of readings. Aquametro strongly recommends having the system commissioned by one of its experienced specialists. Finalizing and sealing After the final commissioning the two upper cover screws should by covered with the plastic studs provided. The lower two screws should be sealed with the included stickers. Setting date and time Without the real-time clock card (2RWC) installed, the internal clock stops whenever the power supply is shut off. If the billing dates and the data logger functions are to be used, the time and date must be actualized during commissioning via the serial interface. The presence of a real-time clock card is recognised when the displayed date and time correspond to actual values. The internal hours in service counter registers the total operating time. Aquametro AG 37 VD 3-168 DEF 9. Error messages Errors are indicated on the main display by an alternating flashing of *****Error *****. A detailed description of the cause of the error is given under the ”Error message” sub-menu. A remediable error (e.g. inversed temperature sensors or connection faults) may be eliminated on-site. Internal heat meter errors will generally require repair or replacement of the device. VD 3-168 DEF 38 Aquametro AG 3-168-e.eps Commissioning check-list 1. These functions have no effect on the metering, serving only as an additional convenience. 14.3 Setting billing dates, logger periods and integration times These settings can be changed at will via the M-Bus or optical interface using the ”CALTOOL” software. In contrast to the unprotected optional field parameters, these settings can be protected against further alterations with the ”lock-level” utility by setting it to two. No further changes can then be made without opening the unit and breaking the seal. Bild-14.eps Meter reading via an optical interface is accomplished by placing the reading head (e.g. Aquametro OCI 9600) on the appropriate point on the meter marked with IEC 870-5. The head is held in place magnetically. The hand-held reading unit must be able to execute a suitable program in compliance with the EN 1434-3 (M-Bus) specifications. For single unit readouts the ”CALTOOL”-software is adequate. Caution: Electricity meters with optical interfaces use the older ZVEI-protocol (IEC 1107)! Reading is initiated exclusively from the hand-held terminal or remote computer. Reading does not change or delete any data stored in the CALEC® MB. Communication parameters Communication parameters are set via the interface with ”CALTOOL”software. A baud rate of 2400 is the default for CALEC® MB. Reading units must be able to communicate at this speed, otherwise the CALEC®baud rate must first be reduced . Warning: In case of simultaneous access via M-Bus and the optical interface, data transfer conflicts may arise which can only be solved by an exclusive access by one of the two sources at any one time. VD 3-168 DEF 68 Aquametro AG 15.
