Le groupe Five Fifteen tire son nom de “Quadrophenia” des Who qui est un groupe culte dans leur patrie, la
Finlande. Après un premier single “Nirvana” en 1990, le groupe a tourné constamment : Suède, Danemark,
USA, Mexique.. ; Plus de 400 concerts !
Après la tournée 1999 en Scandinavie avec Nik Turner (ex-Hawkwind) et Brian Robertson (Thin Lizzy,
Motorhead), ils ont enregistré un maxi-CD intitulé “Silver machine”. 2000 vit aussi un show d’une heure pour la
plus grande chaine TV finlandaise, Yle 1, et le Baja Prog’ festival à Mexico.
“Six dimensions of the electric camembert” est leur quatrième album. Ce groupe de sept musiciens refuse toute
uniformité ... On parle souvent de “Hard Rock’n roll classique” à leur propos, en fait on pense en les écoutant à
Alice Cooper, au Bowie des années 70, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd ou Deep Purple... des extra-terrestres ! Le
groupe rock le plus commercial sur la planète !
The band Five Fifteen that took it's name from The Who's famous rock-opera "Quadrophenia", is a well known
cult-band in their homecountry Finland. After releasing their first single "Nirvana" in May 1990, the group has
been on the road consistently : Sweden, Danmark, Usa, Mexico...more than 400 gigs!
After the 99 tour in Scandinavia with Nik Turner (ex -Hawkwind) and Brian Robertson (Thin lizzy, Motorhead),
they relesed together an CD maxi called "Silver Machine". They also did a superb one hour live performance for
the Finlands biggest Tv channel, Yle 1 and raised the crowd on their fees at Baja Prog Festival in Mexico.
"Six Dimensions Of The Electric Camembert" is their fourth album. The seven-piece collective doesn't stay in
one style and usually succees on its weird ways...When trying to describe the music of Five Fifteen, the title
"`Classic Hard Rock'n Roll" comes close. Imagine Alice Cooper/70's David Bowie having a threesome with Led
Zeppelin/Lynyrd Skynyrd or Deep Purple as their band...IT SELLS like UFO's !!! The most commercial rock act
right now here in planet Earth.
