Tarak Ben Ammar et TF1 reprennent deux réseaux hertziens italiens
La Commission Européenne a autorisé aujourd’hui News Corporation à céder les réseaux hertziens
analogiques italiens Europa TV et Prima TV – jusque là détenus par Telepiu – à Tarak Ben Ammar
associé à TF1 (51% et 49% respectivement).
La société reprenant les deux réseaux prévoit de mettre en place rapidement une chaîne nationale à
composante sportive en clair (réseau Europa TV) ; elle sera également opérateur d’un multiplex
numérique terrestre (réseau Prima TV) ainsi qu’éditeur d’une ou plusieurs chaînes payantes sur ce
multiplex dès que le développement du marché le permettra.
Le rachat et les modalités de réutilisation des deux licences restent soumis à l’approbation des autorités
italiennes compétentes.
Tarak Ben Ammar and TF1 acquire two Italian terrestrial networks
The European Commission allowed today News Corporation to sell the Italian analog terrestrial
networks Europa TV and Prima TV – held so far by Telepiu – to Tarak Ben Ammar partnering with TF1
(respectively 51 % and 49 %).
The company acquiring the two networks plans to set up a free national channel with sports orientation
(Europa TV network) ; It will also operate a digital terrestrial multiplex (Prima TV network) and broadcast
one or more pay channels on that multiplex as soon as the market development allows it.
The transaction and the conditions for operating the two licenses remain subject to approval by the
relevant Italian authorities.
