Registration fee is $200.00 and includes membership to the
New Brunswick Hospice Palliative Care Association
(NBHPCA) and the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care
Association (CHPCA). The rate for students and volunteers
is $80.00 and includes membership in NBHPCA & CHPCA.
Les frais d’inscription sont de 200.00$ et incluent l’adhésion
à l’Association des Soins Palliatifs du N.B (ASPNB) et
l’Association Canadienne de Soins Palliatifs (ACSP). Le taux
pour les étudiants et bénévoles est de 80.00$ et inclut

There is no one-day conference registration fee.

Goal: Increase the competencies of the health care
providers and caregivers involved in palliative care.
But: Accroître les compétences des intervenants offrant des
soins aux personnes en fin de vie.
Objectives:
1) Understand and be able to utilize all the home care
support available to the palliative patient.
2 Understand the unique properties of methadone and its
safe usage in the palliative population. Become aware of
the usefulness of the new SL fentanyl.
3) Learn how to recognize compassion fatigue in our
everyday lives and how to treat ourselves.
4) Gain further understanding of the nurse’s experience of
talking about death to end-of-life patients.
5) Learning what the NBHPCA has been doing in the past
year and how you can be involved.
6) Learning how to navigate through the complicated
grieving process.
7) Learning how to better treat our patients with advanced
dementia.
Objectifs:
1) Comprendre et être capable d’utiliser tous les services de
soutien à domicile disponibles au patient palliatif.
2) Comprendre les composantes uniques de la méthadone
et son utilisation sécure dans la population palliative. S’initier
à l’utilité du nouveau fentanyl sublingual.
3) Apprendre à reconnaitre la fatigue de compassion dans
nos vies de tous les jours et comment nous traiter.
4) Comprendre l’expérience vécue d’infirmières en soins
palliatifs hospitaliers de parler de la mort avec des
personnes en fin de vie
5) Découvrir les activités de l’ASPNB pendant la dernière
année et comment vous pouvez vous impliquer.
6) Apprendre à naviguer au travers le processus compliqué
du deuil.
7) Apprendre à mieux soigner nos patients atteints d’une
démence avancée
