Setting Up Your Blog
1. Sign up for a free Bogging account at www.Blogger.com (aka blogspot.com)
a. To do this you will need a google account. Gmail, or a google shopping account
will both work well. Don’t worry about the email address you choose, I will NOT
be sending any email to that address, it is simply for account activation.
b. It will require you to include a cell phone number that they can text a registration
code to. This is a new measure to prevent fraud or excessive registration to the
same user. I have never received any solicitations.
2. When you have activated your account the dashboard screen will look like this.
C
Click on CREATE a BLOG
3. You will then see a screen that requires you to NAME your blog and URL address.
This is where you choose the name for your
blog.
For ease on the teacher please name your blog:
“Student lastname”NemethAP4.
(Replace the quoted part with your OWN last
name)

Madame Scovel
(Nemeth)
Try to use the same for the URL ADDRESS.
4. Choose a template. (There is NO requirement for your designing preferences)
5. START BLOGGING
6. Clicking the DESIGN TAB at the top of the page will give you the freedom to change each
section of your blog.
7. Your 1st assignment is to fill
the “About Me” section with
information IN FRENCH about you.
(Don’t include anything too personal
like phone numbers or your full
name. Your first name is sufficient.)
This is also where you can change the
tabs to “MA VIE” and “MEDIA” and
“C’EST MOI”
8. To post to the MAIN page of your blog
simply press the POSTING TAB at the top of the
page.
This is the function you will be using to post your
assignments, and later (after school begins) to
comment on other classmates’ blogs as well.

a. From the SETTINGS TAB click the link that is labeled PERMISSIONS.
b. Choose “Only people I CHOOSE”
c. Add my blogger address to that list.
i. You may add friends if you like at this time, but the most important thing is
that I can see it.
ii. [email protected] (It’s an email that won’t change with my name
change)
10. Anything you’d like to add to your blog to personalize is up to you, however, remember
to uphold all school policies and remain a good representative of the French Program
and Neuqua.
