THE Board of Trade have received, through the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, a copy of a Despatch, dated 24th August, 1891, from Her Majesty's Representative at Sofia, enclosing the following Sanitary Ordinance relative to arrivals in Bulgaria by the Orient Express: — Sofia, le 11/23 Aout, 1894. Le Conseil Sanitaire Supsrieur de la Princi>paute dans sa seance du 10 courant a pris la decision suivante. Comme 1'Orient Express prendra des voyageurs settlement de Constantinople et que, a partir de la station de Tchataldja jusqu'a celle de MustafaPacha inclusivement il ne prendra ni voyageurs ni raarchandises, les voyageurs arrivant par 1'Orient Express a destination de 1'Occidcnt et de la Bulgarie pourront passer par Hebibtche'vo contre une simple visite midicale a Harmanly. Le Medecin d'arrondissement de Harmanly communiquera aux autorites administratives de ressort les noms des voyageurs qui descendront en Bulgarie, et les autorites, par 1'entremise des organes sanitaires soumettront les voyageurs a une observation medicale de cinq jours au lieu de leur destination. The Royal Sussex Regiment, Quartermaster and Honorary Captain Henry McKiernan is placed on retired pay. Dated 29th August, 1894. The King's Own (Yorkshire Light Infantry), Gentleman Cadet John Doull Doull, from the Royal Military College, Kingston, Canada, to be Second Lieutenant, in succession to Lieutenant W. T. Potts, promoted. Dated 29th August, 1894. The York and Lancaster Regiment, LieutenantColonel Ellis Lee, on completion of four \ cars' service in command of a Battalion, is placed on half-pay. Dated 27th August, 1894. The Durham Light Infantry, Lieutenant-Colonel Charles T. Peyton, on completion of four years' service in command 'of a Battalion, is placed on half-pay. The Royal Munster Fusiliers, Gentleman Cadet Robert Henry Boyd Magee, from the Royal Military College, .Kingston, Canada, to be Second Lieutenant, in succession to Lieutenant L. C. Warren, promoted. Nicolson, C.B., Indian Army, to command a Second Class District in India, •with the rank of Brigadier-General in India whilst so employed, and to have the substantive rank of Colonel in the Army, vice Major-General G.
