contractual
teaching
position
at
the
Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Electrotechnique, d'Electronique, d'Informatique, d'Hydraulique
et des Télécommunications at the Institut National Polytechnique of Toulouse (INPENSEEIHT). The successful candidate will begin in September 2014.
INP-ENSEEIHT is a top-ranking engineering school with over 1300 students in Electrical
Engineering, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, Hydraulics and
Telecommunications. Student intake is essentially through the national entrance exams after
'classes préparatoires'. English is taught over the three year course in classes of 18-20 students
with levels ranging from A2/low intermediate to C1/advanced.
The candidate will be part of a team of over 40 language teachers, working alongside six
other English teacher-coordinators. Courses in English include developing written and spoken
communication skills; general, scientific and professional English; intercultural
communication; preparation for the TOEIC and the GRE. Encouraging and helping students
with required international project experience is also part of the job.
The candidate will be expected to participate in developing new projects and teaching
materials, as well as engage in administrative tasks. S/he will be specifically responsible for
coordinating the 3rd year English course and 3rd year teaching team, which is currently
composed of 10 permanent and 'vacataire' teacher-trainers for 400 students.
Wide experience in EFL at higher education level in a graduate engineering school is
necessary. The candidate is a native speaker, or has native-speaker level English. S/he has
relevant teaching qualifications (equivalent to M1 / Bac + 4), proven coordination and
teamwork skills, as well as international professional/business experience.
The one-year full-time contract includes a teaching load of 384 hours per year.
The gross monthly salary offered is 1801.18 euros.
