compositions...de longs hivers mélancoliques, des
printemps fragiles et de douces soirées d’été, où les
voix s’entremêlent dans des sons organiques de synthés analogiques, et de boites à rythmes. La chaleur
d’un violoncelle et les mélodies de guitares envahissent les airs et se posent sur les Lilies.»
Laure développe des compositions personnelles
dans un style pop folk. Très influencée par la musique
électronique et le trip pop, et fan du trio féminin «Au Revoir Simone», elle a l’idée de monter un girls band dans ce
style. Elle rencontre Marylou (violoncelliste, chanteuse) et
Nastasia (chanteuse) avec qui le courant humain et musical passe très bien. Toutes les trois mettent en commun
leurs compositions et le groupe Boys In Lilies née début
2012 de cette admiration commune.
Deux autres filles se joignent au projet durant
l’hiver (violoncelle + batterie), mais c’est finalement la
rencontre avec Kévin et ses machines qui leur permettra
de trouver la touche électronique qu’elles recherchaient.
Ensemble, ils enregistrent un premier EP «Hatching»,
effectuent plusieurs résidences pour travailler leur jeu de
scène et se produisent sur scène en ce début d’été 2013.
L’univers des Boys in Lilies est en marche.

Au début des années 90 il se découvre
une passion pour le trip-hop et l’abstract-hip-hop et
commence alors à collectionner les vinyls qu’il écoute
sur un vieux lecteur des années 60-70. Ils gratte en
autodidacte puis joue rapidement au sein de plusieurs
groupes: Kaïta Project (Electro); Samtach (Hiphop
alternatif), et sur le dernier album des Yeux d’la tête.
C’est au mois de décembre 2012 qu’il fait la rencontre
de trois demoiselles aux voix étonnantes...

Architecte & Mélomane, Guillaume tombe sous
le charme des Lilies à l'Automne 2012. L'occasion pour lui de
pouvoir continuer à explorer d'autres medium et d’étendre
l'univers du groupe dans le domaine visuel afin recréer des
lieux offerts à l'imaginaire du public.
Passionné par les phénomènes physiques et
mathématiques, et parallèlement batteur professionnel, il
trouve avec Boys In Lilies l’équilibre parfait entre habillage
sonore en live et création en studio.

De 0 à 10 ans, elle apprend à chanter, à
danser, à faire du piano et de la balançoire dans une
profonde campagne poitevine, entourée de ses 8 animaux domestiques. Ayant compris très tôt qu’elle ne
pourrait rien faire d’autre de sa vie qui puisse l’épanouir, elle se jette corps et âme dans ses pratiques en
adaptant jusqu’à son bac ses études en fonction de la
musique. Elle approfondit ses techniques au conservatoire de Poitiers et rêve au quotidien en musique
entourée de ses amis qui partagent sa passion.
Elle retrouve avec les Boys in Lilies un bucolisme
similaire à ses souvenirs d’enfance empreints de
balançoires et de tortues d’eau. Et c’est trop cool.

Enfant déjà, elle baignait dans la musique aux ambiances mélancoliques. Elle se met
rapidement au piano et à la guitare en autodidacte,
préférant travailler son oreille pendant des heures à
repiquer des morceaux qu’elle aime plutôt que de déchiffrer les partitions qu’on lui donne. Elle apprend à
chanter en écoutant en boucle les musiques (versions
originales) de tous les Walt Disney.
Après moult collaborations musicales au
fil de ses jeunes années, elle rencontre enfin son destin: les fleurs du nom de Laure et Marylou. Elle leur
apporte la douceur de sa voix et ses visions poétiques
du monde qui les entoure.

Très tôt attirée par la musique et toutes
les formes d’expressions artistiques, Laure se lance
dans la composition et rentre à l’école « Jazz à Tours
». Elle forme un groupe de Jazz-Bossanova «Les
Hommes de Lola» qui lui permettent de développer
son expérience scènique. Mais c‘est dans les musiques actuelles (pop/éléctro/trip-hop...) qu’elle souhaite se diriger. De là, né l’univers des Boys In Lilies.

«Three girls composing the seasons through their
songs ; long melancholic winters, delicate springs, and
sweet summer evenings where voices interweave with
organic sounds of analog synths and drum machines. The
cello’s warmth and the guitar’s melodies invade the air
and softly land on the Lilies.»
Strongly influenced by trip pop and electronic music,
and a big fan of the feminine trio “Au Revoir Simone”, Laure
started working on personal compositions with a pop folk flair.
The idea of starting up a band came naturally. During her studies at Jazz A Tours, she met Marylou (cello player and singer) with whom she shared a good personal and musical vibe.
Around that time, her friends introduced her to another young
singer: Nastasia, who would eventually share the idea of putting
a band together. The three of them combined their compositions with mutual admiration. By the beginning of 2012, Boys in
Lilies was born.
A bit later, two other girls joined them: a cello player and a
drum player. The girls were optimistic, yet some differences
of opinion loomed on the horizon. Laure, Marylou and Nastasia then decided to resume the project by finding a DJ to add
the electronic side they had lost back to the project. It was at
that very moment that Kevin came into the lives of the three
musicians, who were more motivated than ever. Boys in Lilies
continued to flourish even more during the winter of 2012-2013.
Together they created a show and recorded two EPs, the first
concerts were scheduled, and the Boys in Lilies universe was
finally set into action.

Attracted to music and artistic expression
from early on, Laure took up songwriting and went
to the prestigious Jazz à Tours School. She started
up a bossanova band “Les Hommes de Lola” which
allowed her to develop her stage experience. Yet, she
was even more drawn to Modern Music (pop/electro/
trip hop). After spending a long time looking for musicians with whom to share her music and her dreams,
she eventually met Nastasia
and Marylou. Together, and with a little help from
some charming boys, they created the Boys in Lilies’
Universe.

Even as a child she would immerse herself
in melancholic musical atmospheres. Self-taught,
she quickly began playing piano and guitar, fine-tuning her ears for hours by heuristically studying notes
of songs she loved instead of sight-reading given
music sheets. She learned how to sing by listening
to all the original Walt Disney songs on repeat. After
many musical collaborations through the years, she
eventually met her destiny: the flowers named Laure
& Marylou. She offers them the softness of her voice
and her poetic visions of the world that surrounds
them.

Working as an architect, yet a keen music lover, Guillaume falls under the spell of the Lilies during the
Autumn 2012. This encounter gives him the opportunity to
continue exploring new mediums and develop the band’s
visual world in order to recreate places and atmospheres as
a trigger to the public’s imaginary.
Fascinated by physical phenomena and mathematics, and simultaneously a professional drummer, he
found with Boys in Lilies the perfect balance between live
sound design and studio arrangements.

From birth to 10 years old, she learned
how to sing, dance, play the piano, and seesaw in
the deep Poitou County countryside, surrounded by
her 8 pets. She would soon understand that these
things would be the only things to light up her life;
and would thus devote herself, body and soul, to these
disciplines, by adapting her studies (up to A levels) to
music. She studied in depth and perfected her techniques at the Conservatoire de Poitiers, and constantly dreamed of music with her friends who shared
her passion. She met Laure and Nastasia during her
studies at Jazz à Tours. Boys in Lilies was born - in
which the bucolic ambience, similar to her childish
memories infused with swings and turtles, settles in.
And that’s so cool.
