Requirements : availability for 15 days minimum + medium knowledge of Spanish is

Work activity
The area is covered with forest but due to a very dry and hot weather of the last months there
is a great risk of fire in these forests. More than 45 % of the fires in the area are created by
tourists because of lack of information and negligence. Volunteers will try to inform, educate
and control tourists in order to prevent fires in the area. For such work they will use bicycles,
so their main work will be to bike around a marvelous mediterranean forest checking that
everything is ok.
Accommodation and food
Volunteers will live and sleep in a nice hut up in the mountains or in a kindergarten in Calpe, so it will
be possible to enjoy the nightlife there. During the day (Monday-Friday) volunteers will work in the
forest in an isolated house 5 km away from Calp but with all facilities. Volunteers will cook for
themselves.
Location and leisure time
Calpe, a town with a long history and deeply-rooted traditions, is also one of the main tourist
destinations on the Costa Blanca. The Marina, the promenade and eleven kilometres of
coastline, marked by cliffs, beaches and coves, are some of the many attractions. Another
attraction is one of the symbols of the town, the Rock of Ifach, a huge calcareous rock, 332
meters high, that penetrates the sea and gave the town its name.
Calpe is a beautiful touristic resort and it has many options for entertainment (concerts,
excursions, swimming, archeological sites, hikes).
Requirements
1) At least one of the volunteers must be able to drive an old car to be able to go down to the
town, socialise and do shopping.
2) Medium level of Spanish would be great, but not necessary.
3) Responsibility is a must. This project is great for independent volunteers who want to
paractiсe their Spanish.
4)Skype meeting will be organised to check the motivation and a Spanish level.
5) Volunteers must сome for the period of 15 DAYS at least. They will pay 100 € deposit at
the beginning of the project that will be returned after they finish their work and before they
leave.
6) Extra cost 50,00 € (for each volunteer) is for first 2 weeks, then 30,00 € for each following
two weeks.
