Wallonia - Public service obligation - gas and
electricity invoices (tertiary sector)
General description
This is a measure of the Walloon Region.
This measure focuses on three public service obligations imposed on electricity and gas suppliers (a and
b) or on distribution system operators (c):
a) showing consumption statistics and a reference value on gas and electricity bills, aimed at making
customers aware of their consumption;
b) distributing any document relating to RUE specified by the Minister;
c) maintaining and improving the energy efficiency of local authority public lighting facilities.
Since the NEEAP3, two decrees of the Walloon Government of 24 September 2015 enhance the
compulsory information to be mentioned on electricity and gas websites, contracts and bills, by contact
details of consumer associations and energy agencies or similar.
