Montreal, April 2st, 2014.
Once again this year, the Quebec Puppeteer Association (Association québécoise des marionnettistes –
AQM) enthusiastically contributed to the organization of activities during the 9th edition of the Les Trois
Jours de Casteliers festival that ran from March 6 to 9, 2014, in the Outremont borough. This
contribution to the festival was an opportunity for the AQM to promote the vitality and creativity of
professional puppeteers from Québec among guest programmers from abroad as well as among the
general public.
Collaboration on the Marionnettes en vitrines! project, from February 19 to March 9, 2014: The
rally-quiz organized by the AQM – with enthusiastic help from participating shops – took the public
from one window display to another on a playful walkabout exhibit to discover the creations of
thirty Quebec puppeteers. New this year, guided tours were organized for local daycares and
elementary schools. A great joy for all – we’re looking forward to next year!
Professional networking event on March 7, 2014: More then 70 people, including 21 national and
international guest programmers and 27 AQM* member artists and companies, were on hand. This
fourth consecutive edition helped open doors for Quebec puppeteers on international stages. The
AQM also offered international guests a continental breakfast every morning during the festival,
giving artists and programmers the opportunity to meet and exchange in a friendly and informal
setting.
