NATIONAL TEAMS 2014
16U Boys National Team Program Information
Overview
The summer 2014 program will involve 2 distinct parts, each with an associated player fee:
1. 30 athletes will be announced on June 9, 2014 to participate in a 10-day centralization event in
Calgary set during the dates of July 20 to July 30, 2014;
2. From this group of 30 players, 16 athletes will be selected on July 30 to participate in a 6-day
mini-camp in Calgary (July 30 to August 4, 2014) and followed immediately by a 10-day
training and competition trip to southern California (August 5 to 15, 2014);
3. Players not selected to participate in the California event, will return home from Calgary on
July 30.
Calgary Centralization July 20 to July 30, 2014:
 The player fee for the 10-day Centralization camp in Calgary is $1700;
 Payment deadline is June 13, 2014. Forward the attached credit card form to
[email protected];
 This fee includes the cost of travel to/from Calgary (booked by WPC), hotel, 3 meals per day,
airport pickup and drop-off in Calgary, training expenses and team outfit;
 Athletes travel will be booked to arrive in Calgary on July 20 at no later than 3 p.m.;
 Athletes not selected for the California event will return to their homes following a breakfast
debriefing on June 30 and these travel arrangements will be overseen by the Team Manager,
David Hart;
 The athletes and staff will all stay at the Holiday Inn Macleod Trail South in Calgary 403-450
5717;
 Training will take place at the Talisman Sport Complex;
 Athletes are expected to arrive in top physical condition with all the necessary clothing, ready
for the physical and mental demands of rigorous training in the water as well as on deck, dry
land, outdoor and gymnasium activities.
Team staff include:
 Head Coach Andrew Muir;
 Assistant Coaches Fedja Avlijas and Nishant Damani;
 Team Manager and Mentor David Hart;
Calgary mini-camp and California trip July 30 to August 15, 2014:
 The player fee for the Calgary mini-camp and California trip is $2500;
 Payment deadline is July 30, 2014 and the original credit card form sent will be used to charge
this fee once selected;

The 16 players invited to participate in the 2nd part of the summer program will continue
training in Calgary for 6 more days (July 30 to August 4) as a preparation for their trip to
California;
The team will fly from Calgary to San Diego on August 5 where they will train and compete
with the United States 16U team from August 5 to 8, 2014 at Cathedral Catholic High School
Swimming Pool. The team will stay at La Quinta Scripps Poway Hotel in San Diego.
On August 9, the team will make a 2-hour trip by van from San Diego to Orange County
(Huntington Beach) where they will compete and train once again with their American
counterparts at Ocean View High School Swimming Pool. The team will be based out of the
Best Western PLUS Irvine Spectrum Hotel in Orange County for the duration of their
California visit (August 9-15);
Athletes will fly directly to their home town from Los Angeles on August 15, 2014.
All athletes and staff will be required to sign and abide by the attached, Water Polo Canada code of
conduct by July 20 and forward this to [email protected] . It will be strictly enforced and we highly
recommend that parents review it in detail with their sons prior to confirming their participation.
Athlete information forms will be forwarded by Team Manager David Hart to each family on June 13,
2014 and these must be returned prior to the athlete’s arrival on July 20, 2014.
All athletes must have a valid passport allowing them to travel to the United States. Any athlete under
the age of 16 will be required to provide written permission to travel to the United States signed by
both parents. A sample letter will be sent to you on June 13, 2014.

ÉQUIPES NATIONALES 2014
Information du Programme d’équipe nationale 16U Garçons
Aperçu
Le programme estival 2014 se déroulera en 2 parties distinctes, chacune étant associée à un coût pour
les joueurs :
1. Une liste de 30 athlètes sera annoncée le 9 juin 2014 pour participer à une centralisation de 10
jours à Calgary, du 20 au 30 juillet 2014;
2. De ce groupe de 30 joueurs, 16 athlètes seront sélectionnés (le 30 juillet) pour participer à un
mini-camp de 6 jours à Calgary (30 juillet au 4 août 2014) suivi immédiatement d’un voyage
de 10 jours d’entraînement et de compétition dans le sud de la Californie (5 au 15 août 2014);
3. Les joueurs qui ne sont pas sélectionnés pour participer au voyage en Californie quitteront
Calgary pour retourner à la maison le 30 juillet.
Centralisation à Calgary – 20 au 30 juillet 2014 :
 Le coût pour cette centralisation de 10 jours à Calgary est de 1700$;
 La date limite pour le paiement est le 13 juin 2014. Veuillez faire parvenir le formulaire de
carte de crédit ci-joint à [email protected];
 Ce montant inclut le coût du voyage aller-retour à Calgary (billet d’avion réservé par WPC),
l’hôtel, 3 repas par jour, le transport aller-retour de l’aéroport à l’hôtel à Calgary, les frais
d’entraînement et l’uniforme d’équipe;
 Les billets d’avion seront réservés afin que les athlètes arrivent à Calgary le 20 juillet au plus
tard à 15h;
 Les athlètes qui ne sont pas sélectionnés pour le voyage en Californie retourneront à la maison
le 30 juin, à la suite d’un compte-rendu lors d’un déjeuner. Les détails de ce voyage seront
organisés par le gérant de l’équipe, David Hart;
 Les athlètes et le personnel de l’équipe séjourneront au Holiday Inn Macleod Trail South à
Calgary (403-450-5717);
 Les entraînements auront lieu au Talisman Sport Complex;
 Les athlètes doivent arriver en excellente condition physique avec tous les vêtements
nécessaires, prêts pour les exigences physiques et mentales d’entraînements rigoureux en
piscine, de même que pour l’entraînement à sec et pour des activités en plein air et en
gymnase.

Mini-camp à Calgary et voyage en Californie, du 30 juillet au 15 août 2014 :
 Le coût du mini-camp à Calgary et du voyage en Californie est de 2500$;
 La date limite de paiement est le 30 juillet 2014 et le formulaire de carte de crédit envoyé sera
utilisé pour prélever ce montant si l’athlète est sélectionné;
 Les 16 joueurs invités à participer à la 2e partie du programme estival continueront
l’entraînement à Calgary pour 6 jours (30 juillet au 4 août) en préparation pour le voyage en
Californie;
 L’équipe voyagera de Calgary à San Diego le 5 août pour un camp d’entraînement avec
l’équipe nationale 16U des États-Unis (5 au 8 août 2014) à la piscine de la Cathedral Catholic
High School. L’équipe demeurera à La Quinta Scripps Poway Hotel à San Diego.
 Le 9 août, l’équipe effectuera un voyage de 2 heures (en camionnette) de San Diego à Orange
County (Huntington Beach) pour poursuivre l’entraînement avec l’équipe américaine à la
piscine de l’Ocean View High School. L’équipe demeurera alors au Best Western PLUS
Irvine Spectrum Hotel à Orange County et ce, jusqu’à la fin de ce voyage en Californie (9 au
15 août);
 Les athlètes retourneront directement de Los Angeles à leur domicile le 15 août 2014.
Tous les athlètes et le personnel devront signer et respecter le code de conduite de Water Polo Canada
(en pièce jointe) et l’envoyer au plus tard le 20 juillet à [email protected];
Le code sera appliqué strictement et nous recommandons fortement aux parents de l’examiner en
détail avec leur fils avant de confirmer leur participation.
Les formulaires d’informations sur l’athlète seront envoyés à chaque famille par le gérant de l’équipe,
David Hart, le 13 juin 2014. Ces formulaires doivent être retournés avant l’arrivée de l’athlète le 20
juillet 2014.
Tous les athlètes doivent détenir un passeport valide leur permettant de voyager aux États-Unis. Tous
les athlètes âgés de moins de 16 ans devront fournir une permission écrite signée par les deux parents
pour voyager aux États-Unis. Un modèle de lettre sera envoyé le 13 juin 2014.
