Performer and choreographer born in Lausanne. Works in Lausanne and
Fribourg.! Studied classical ballet and Modern Jazz in Lausanne and
Sydney (Australie). Studied Social and Political Science in Lausanne.
Political and militant engagement for 8 years, during which time she
abandoned dance. Successively: special education teacher, factory worker
and assistant, reception centre for refugees. // Then studied
contemporary dance and oriental techniques in Lausanne and in San
Francisco (USA). Studied yoga and carried out personal research on the
origins of movements. Created the Compagnie fabienne berger in 1985,
followed by la Fondation compagnie fabienne berger in 1989.
Since its foundation in 1985, 35 creations, recipients of several awards,
have been created with the label compagnie fabienne berger, in coproduction with Swiss and international theatres and festivals. The
company's reputation began to spread in 1989; it has performed in a
dozen European countries as well as in Armenia, Lebanon, the USA,
Russia, Chili and in major Swiss cities.
