Achim Anscheidt, d’origine allemande, est depuis 2004 l’homme en charge du design chez Bugatti.
Fils du champion de moto Hans-Georg Anscheidt, et un ancien champion de motocross lui-même, il a étudié
le design aux États-Unis avant de travailler chez Porsche et Volkswagen. Ayant rejoint Bugatti à la tête du
département design, il est arrivé alors que la tant attendue Veyron (conçue sous l’œil de son prédécesseur
et mentor Hartmut Warkuss) était sur le point d’être lancée. En prenant les rênes du design chez Bugatti,
sa responsabilité est d’assumer un siècle d’avancement technologique tout en restant fidèle à l’alliance entre
vitesse et art. Plutôt secret quant à ses projets futurs avec la marque, ou tout autre détail sur son travail, il
dégage un air de force silencieuse et un enthousiasme pour les années à venir.

The man charged with overseeing Bugatti’s design since 2004 is German-born
Achim Anscheidt. The son of motorcycle champion Hans-Georg Anscheidt, and a former motocross champion himself,
Anscheidt, 52, studied auto design in the US before taking up positions with Porsche and Volkswagen Group. Having joined
Bugatti in 2004 as head of design, he arrived just as the much-feted Veyron, (designed under the eye of Anscheidt’s predecessor
and mentor Hartmut Warkuss) was being readied for release. But taking on the mantle of design at Bugatti is to assume the
responsibilities of a century’s technological achievement while maintaining fidelity to the company’s core alliance of velocity and
artistry. Future projects are not up for discussion, neither are details on what his current work involves. Instead, Anscheidt
exudes a general air of quiet energy and enthusiasm for the years ahead.
A man of automobile, a man of design and future, a man of competition, Achim Anscheidt has accepted the challenge of
judging the cars of the past.
