Are Stephane Dubois and Shehzad
Hamza, the co-owners of this brew
pub, the brigands of beer or the plunderers of pale ale? We don’t know
about that, but they’ve transformed
this former auto body shop into an
open-concept space with a patio beer
garden. There are eight beers available, with dozens more fermenting.

la pale ale? Nul ne le sait, mais ils ont
transformé cet ex-garage en espace
concept ouvert avec jardin-patio. Huit

Pinkerton’s Snack Bar
This Leslieville restaurant boasts three
namesakes: the tenor in Madama Butterfly, the Weezer album and the detective agency-turned-risk management
company. They’re all germane, because
the Asian-inspired small plates are
operatic; the brick-and-salvage interior has rock-star insouciance; and the
cocktail list is well worth keeping under

wheat-paste walls look (almost) good
