n 1853, Friedrich Peyer im Hof, Heinrich Moser et Conrad
Neher crée la société, « la Swiss Wagon Factory », avec
l’objectif de concevoir des wagons pour les trains. Sept
années plus tard, les trois associés ont participé à un appel
d’offre, pour la fourniture d’un fusil au Ministère Fédéral de
la Défense suisse. En 1864, le contrat fut remporté grâce au
fusil Prelaz-Burnand, un fusil à amorce à rechargement par
la bouche. Il s’en suivra une commande de 30 000 fusils et
la société changea de nom pour devenir « Schweizerische
Industrie-Gesellschaft » (SIG).
Au XXe siècle, le SIG P49 a été développé pour l’armée suisse.
Suivront le P220 au début des années 70, et le P230 en 1977 pour
répondre aux besoins des forces de l’ordre. Ces pistolets étaient
très innovants et faisaient preuve d’une fiabilité remarquable et
inégalée à l’époque.
En 1999, SIG distribue sur l’ensemble du territoire américain la gamme
révolutionnaire de fusils Blaser R93 développés à Isny en Allemagne.

n 1853, Friedrich Peyer im Hof, Heinrich Moser y Conrad
Neher crearon la sociedad « Swiss Wagon Factory », con
el objetivo de diseñar vagones para trenes. Siete
años más tarde, los tres socios participaron en una licitación
pública para el suministro de un fusil al Ministerio Federal
de la Defensa suizo. En 1864 el contrato les fue adjudicado
gracias al Prelaz-Burnand, un fusil de avancarga. Recibieron
un pedido de 30 000 fusiles y la sociedad cambió de nombre,
pasando a llamarse « Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft » (SIG).
En el siglo veinte fue desarrollado el SIG P49 para el ejército
suizo. Le siguieron el P220 a principios de los años setenta,
y el P230 en 1977 para responder a las necesidades de las fuerzas
del orden. Estas pistolas eran muy innovadoras y hacían gala
de una notable fiabilidad, inigualada en aquella época. En
1999, SIG distribuye sobre todo el territorio americano la
gama revolucionaria de fusiles Blaser R93 desarrollados a Isny
en Alemania.
