Abstract: In this fauna of Iran, the previous cheetah distribution in Iran is given. According the
author, the cheetah range seems to be largely determined by the range of gazelle. The advent of
the jeep after World War II marked the beginning of its decrease through slaughter of the gazelle.
Dans cette faune d'Iran, l'ancienne répartition du guépard en Iran est présentée. Selon l'auteur, la
distribution du guépard semble être largement déterminée par celle des gazelles. L'avènement
de la jeep après la deuxième Guerre Mondiale marque le début de son déclin à travers le
massacre des gazelles.
