Paris&Co annonce les 21 finalistes du
concours international de start-ups iiAwards
Pour la seconde édition du concours international de start-ups, 208 projets ont
été déposés et 21 finalistes sélectionnés. Ils seront invités à Paris pour pitcher
leur projet devant l’écosystème de l’innovation parisien et le lauréat sera
désigné le 3 décembre, à la Cité de la Mode et du Design, avant la remise des
Grands Prix de l’Innovation de la Ville de Paris.
Pour cette seconde édition des iiAwards, Paris&Co s’est associé à l’incubateur 50Partners et
à trois grandes entreprises, Aéroports de Paris, Johnson&Johnson et Total. Cette
compétition internationale, en complément des Grands Prix de l’Innovation de la Ville de
Paris, invite les startups du monde entier à présenter un projet en lien avec l’innovation quel
que soit le secteur dans lequel elles se spécialisent.
Dix start-ups françaises, par ailleurs finalistes des Grands Prix de l’Innovation de la Ville de
Paris, sont sélectionnées. Parmi les start-ups étrangères, une start-up est d’origine indienne,
deux américaines, une suédoise, trois anglaises (Londres), deux allemandes (Berlin), une
hollandaise (Amsterdam) et une espagnole.
Ces start-ups seront invitées à Paris pour présenter leur projet devant une audience
composée d’experts en technologie, de décideurs et d’investisseurs, dont les membres du
Club Open Innovation de Paris&Co, représentant 70 grandes entreprises françaises. Les 6
start-ups retenues pourront intégrer un programme d’incubation de 3 mois dans l’un des
incubateurs de Paris&Co et le grand lauréat recevra une récompense de 20 000 €.

Vortex will be able to get electricity from wind, in a cheaper and efficient way because of:
- Low investment: Vortex wind generator cost is much lower than a three blade conventional design
due to the elimination of the most expensive parts such as blades, hub, gearbox, nacelle, pitching
system, brakes... The estimates indicate that the reduction costs of a Vortex wind generator can be
just 53% of a conventional wind turbine.
- Carbon Foot Print: It is used less material is required to manufacture Vortex, and it doesn't need oil
for O&M, as conventional technology with over 300 l/year. This reduces the Carbon Foot Print over
40%.
- Lower Operations & Maintenance (O&M) costs: Vortex wind generators have much lower
maintenance costs since there are no moving parts that requiring lubrication or substitution due to
wear. No cranes are required because the generator is on ground level.
- More respectful with environment: Vortex does not have blades and its oscillation is under 20Hz. So,
the human cannot hear any noise from its movement. Also birds won't have any accident crossing the
air space Vortex is using, such as they have when they crash with blades.
Estimations indicate a Levelized Cost of Energy (LCoE) of just 3.8 cents/kWh for Vortex wind
generators, making them competitive with any other energy source.
