Le travail de Mike Lash se présente le plus souvent sous la forme de dessins, proches de l’esprit des bandes dessinées
et des graffitis. Le geste y est volontairement pauvre et dérisoire. Mike Lash y montre des hommes condamnés à vivre
dans un monde inhumain, absurde, où ils n’ont plus à leur disposition que l’humour le plus noir. Mike Lash utilise
pour ses dessins toutes sortes de matériaux de rebut. Il fait éclater et jouer le langage, notamment quand les textes des
dessins et des titres se perturbent ou se contredisent. C’est à partir de ce constat très sombre que Mike Lash tente de
maintenir l’art dans ses fonctions thérapeutiques et de symbolique universelle.
