Setup for the bridle system
The bridle systemis the lines which hold your
kite againstthe wind and is attachedto thc
flying line. A wrong set up may causeyoul
kite to fly badly and even not fly at all, so it
is most importantthat you get it right !
llltren we suggesta bddle systemfor a kite desigp,
often this is fixed by the designeror the ownel
of the kite. You will soon learn that most
bridle set up are pelsonal and often only suit
the pilot. tn order to adjust the spin and the
speedof the kite, you need to leavea loose
pieceof line after you havemadeyour knott
at the point of the bridle. This small extra
piece will be used to tune your kite according to your need and the strengthof the
wind.
Two casescan take place:
l- Your kite spins too much ond is too fost
You will need to reducethe lengthof the back
bridlein orderto makeyour kite facingmore
wind and taking a strongerangleto the pulling.A small loop over the smallpieceof the
extra line will reducethe length. You may
n e e d t o m a k e s e v e r a ll o o p s t i l l y o u r k i t e
becomemore stable.Althoughthis willmake
your kite pull a little stronger.
2- Your kite is too stoble ond does not spin
Thismeansthat your front bridle is too long.
You will need to reduceit by makint some
loopsaroundthe extrapieceof line.Tryit till
you are happywith the movementof the kite.
A good kite should not spin to fast.
Bod news!
Yourkite stillgoes one side or the other but
does not spin well. You may have an unbalance kite with more pull on one side.
Eitheryou add some weight on the oPPosite side, move the knott of the bridle
side ways or your bow is uneven. There
is not much to do, Just try all the bits.
Rebalancethe kite. lf that is not right...
You may have a real problem and You
may need to make a new kite. I am sorry
for you !
Goodluck !

This mini kite is dedicatedto our friends
in Antwerp Belgiumin honourof the birth
of their little girl...H6lina
It is a fast kite and difficult for beginners
to fly. You need to be well trained before
you aim for the flyingof this mini kite ! The
sp€cdallows many hoursof good fun. When
ftVrngwith a long line, the kite becomeeasier
to control. lt does not pull at all and needs
a yery light line to fly with. I love to play
with Little H6lina when the wind is fair and
I nced another challenge!
Thc sail is made of light Mylar, you could
also usc light paperor fine plasticfilm. lt is
most importantto keepthe weight as small
as possible.Tlre spine is a bambooof 1,5
mm and the bow a glassfibre of 1,5mm.
Thc bridle is not easyto adiust because
thc kitc has a short body with large wings,
it will spin fast at the launchbut with exPericncc and severaltries, you will get a good
brhncc and a fairly steady kite. Havefun
with it !

fast kite and it can pull a little more than
an Indian kite. The sail is made of plastic

faireso voilureon utiliseun film plostic(solide)
film (strong) or Mylar. The spine is a stick
of bamboo of 2 mm and the bow is made
with a glass fibre of 2 mm. The sticks at the
front of the kite are piecesof barbecuebamboo sticks of 1,5 mm. The bridle is not so
cesy to adiust. You will need to try adiusting wtrile erperimentingthe first flight.
Don't forget to keep an extra piece of
string at the point of firation of the bridles
for finc tuning. This kite is good for moderetc to strongwinds but allow for somesurprircs !
