Audiovisual Research Archives (ARA) Program Image Use and Copyright Paris, June 2008 ARA Program – Image Use and Copyright FMSH-ESCoM, Paris, June 2008 1 CD-Roms and DVDs are solely intended for non-commercial uses Users may obtain CD-Roms or DVDs of videos stocked in the Audiovisual Research Archives (ARA) collection: 1) CD-Roms can be opened on PCs and MACs; 2) DVDs can be viewed on PCs, MACs, as well as television screens. These CD-Roms and DVDs are in raw format, meaning that they only contain video files without menus or other formatting. To cover production costs, ESCoM requests that users make a meager contribution to cover the costs of burning videos onto CD/DVDs . Below are the requested contribution amounts: 1 2 Raw CD-Rom Raw DVD 10 euros (excl. tax)/ per CD 15 euros (excl. tax)/ per DVD For people, institutions, etc. that want to obtain several copies of a CD/DVD, ESCoM offers the reduced rates indicated below: 2 4 Raw CD-Rom Raw DVD 2 to 9 copies 2 to 9 copies 8 euros (excl. tax)/ per CD 13 euros (excl. tax)/ per DVD For any additional information, please contact: Richard Fillon Video Processing Service [email protected] or Tatiana Wenker General Administration [email protected] IMPORTANT NOTE Users that obtain a CD or DVD from the FMSH-ESCoM’s ARA collections promise: − not to use the material for commercial purposes; − not to plagiarize the researcher’s work; − to cite the CD/DVD’s author when referring to its content or when using it for any other purpose. This promise constitutes a contract between you and the FMSH-ESCOM’s ARA program. The scientific works diffused on the FMSH-ESCoM’s ARA sites are protected by French legislation and international agreements regarding copyright law. The FMSH-ESCoM’s ARA site: − has been declared to the CNIL (Dossier N° 1054648 from 11/19/2004) − is protected by copyright law (Dossier N° 4T2S162).
