The number of people who chose a cruise holiday in Europe has more than doubled in the past decade to over 5.6 million; the sector attracted almost a million passengers from outside Europe. The report shows the industry generated €36.7 bn of goods and services in Europe, and increased its European bookings by 9 per cent over 2010 to command 30 per cent of the global market. It generates employment for more than 315,000 people across Europe.
