Mix well by inversion to prevent clotting of blood. Indicate on the tube : the name and breed of dog. - the pedigree and the tattoo or chip if possible - a clinical questionnaire provided by us And if the dog is sick : - biopsies of pads (and nose if possible) affected and normal tissues (to be collected at excision or biopsy or very soon after the death of the dog within 15 minutes) in the solutions provided. In 2 separate tubes: - removal of affected tissue : cut the sample into two smaller fragments. Put the first in the tube containing RNAlater solution, and the second as in formalin for histological analysis. - removal of healthy tissue (same organ but healthy) : idem in the tube containing RNAlater solution and in formalin. The volume of tissue must correspond to 1/10th of the volume of the solution. Use gloves for protection from RNA later solution and formalin. Label each tube : the type of sample (tissue, tumor or healthy), the dog's name and date. Once the samples taken, put at 4 ° C and quickly send by mail at room temperature except weekends and holidays. Send at Dr. Catherine André Institut de Génétique et Développement de Rennes UMR 6061, Équipe « Génétique du chien » 2 avenue du Professeur Léon Bernard 35043 Rennes Cedex - FRANCE The samples sent to us anonymously come in the framework of a comprehensive study.
