O Bando
O Bando é uma das mais antigas companhias de teatro independente
portuguesas, fundada logo após o 25 de Abril por João Brites, um homem
de teatro, encenador e cenógrafo que tinha estado exilado até à altura.
Durante muitos anos a companhia desenvolveu um trabalho especialmente
vocacionado para o público infanto-juvenil.
A partir de 2000 O Bando instalou-se em Palmela (distrito de Setúbal) onde
vem desenvolvendo um projecto de descentralização.
João Brites trabalha com frequência textos de autores portugueses. É o caso
de Miguel Torga, ficcionista e poeta, que é uma das grandes figuras da
literatura portuguesa contemporânea.
O Bando
O Bando est une des plus anciennes compagnies portugaises de théâtre
indépendant, fondée juste après le 25 avril par João Brites, homme de
théâtre, metteur en scène et scénographe qui était resté en exil jusque là.
Durant huit ans, la compagnie a développé un travail plus particulièrement
destiné au jeune public.
A partir de 2000, O Bando s´est installé à Palmela (district de Setúbal) où il
développe un projet de décentralisation théâtrale.
João Brites monte régulièrement des texte d´auteurs portugais. Comme, ici,
Miguel Torga, auteur de fictions et poète et grande figure de la littérature
portugaise contemporaine.
O Bando
O Bando is one of the most ancient independent Portuguese theatre
companies, founded right after the 25th of April (1974) revolution, by João
Brites, a true man of the theatre, stage director and art director that had
been exiled until that time.
For many years the company developed a work especially devoted to the
younger public.
From 2000 O Bando moved to Palmela (Setúbal district) where it has been
developing a project of fighting centralisation.
João Brites frequently works texts by Portuguese authors. This is the case of
Miguel Torga, fiction writer and a poet, who is one of the most important
figures in contemporary Portuguese literature.
