This episode will teach you some key words and information about Christmas in France as well as some Christmas songs. Let’s find out a few facts about Christmas in France The celebrations start on 24th December known as la veille de Noël or le réveillon. The Christmas eve meal usually consists of oysters, les huîtres, seafood, les fruits de mer, smoked salmon, le saumon fumé or fattened goose liver as a starter, le foie gras, followed by goose, de l'oie, or turkey de la dinde as the main course, all washed down with wine le vin or le champagne. The typical French dessert on this occasion is a rather rich and creamy yule log called la bûche de Noël. Ok.
