Tribunal Arbitral du Sport Court of Arbitration for Sport MEDIA RELEASE FOOTBALL DECISION ISSUED IN THE ARBITRATION PROCEDURE BETWEEN SPORTING CLUBE DE PORTUGAL AND DOYEN SPORTS INVESTMENTS LTD Lausanne, 24 December 2015 – The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has issued its decision in the arbitration procedure between the Portuguese football club, Sporting Clube de Portugal and Doyen Sports Investments Ltd, a private investment company. The procedure concerns a contractual dispute between the parties relating to the economic rights of two football players (third party ownership). Earlier this week, the CAS Panel in charge of this matter issued its Arbitral Award to the parties, which includes the following decision: Sporting is ordered to pay to Doyen EUR 10,050,000 and GBP £ 1,433,596.15 plus interest. Sporting shall pay within three days to Doyen 75% of any amount that might accrue to Sporting as a consequence of its right to 20% of the excess of any future transfer compensation of Player X above EUR 23,000,000. For the moment, only the above details can be confirmed. The Arbitral Award remains confidential and cannot be published, unless both parties agree to lift the confidentiality of the award.
