Passerelle pour piétons et cyclistes Cents - Weimershof/Kirchberg
En 2006 la Ville de Luxembourg a présenté un concept vélo. Dans ce concept, une liaison cyclable entre
Cents et Kirchberg était prévue, ainsi qu’un ascenseur pour piétons et cyclistes entre Pfaffenthal et la ville
haute, qui sera d’ailleurs inauguré dans quelques mois. Mais malgré la présentation par la Ville de deux
ébauches d’un pont reliant Cents et Kirchberg (avec ascenseur vers Neudorf), ce projet n’est toujours pas
entré dans une phase concrète de réalisation.
Cette liaison constitue un maillon important du concept vélo de la capitale et permettra de relier deux
quartiers d’activité et d’habitation d’envergure. Par ailleurs, grâce à l’accès par ascenseur à Neudorf, la
passerelle offrira aux habitants de ce quartier une connexion rapide vers le plateau du Kirchberg et le
centre-ville. En plus, un tel pont rendra non seulement la capitale accessible aux habitants des communes
limitrophes à l’est, mais assurera en même temps une liaison topographiquement favorable entre la ville
de Luxembourg et la région mosellane.
Vu l’importance du projet tant au niveau des déplacements quotidiens qu’à celui des réseaux touristiques,
la LVI demande à la Ville de Luxembourg de faire avancer sa réalisation dans les plus brefs délais.

Fußgänger- und Fahrradbrücke Cents - Weimershof/Kirchberg
2006 hat die Stadt Luxemburg ein Radverkehrskonzept vorgestellt. In diesem Konzept war erstmals
eine Radverbindung zwischen den Stadtteilen Cents und Kirchberg vorgesehen, ebenso wie ein Lift für
Fußgänger und Radfahrer zwischen Pfaffenthal und der Oberstadt, welcher in einigen Monaten eingeweiht
wird. Doch obschon die Stadt mittlerweile zwei verschiedene Entwürfe zur Brücke zwischen Cents und
Weimershof/Kirchberg (mit Lift zum Neudorf) vorgestellt hat, ist dieses Projekt noch immer nicht in einer
konkreten Umsetzungsphase.
Diese Verbindung ist allerdings ein wichtiges Glied im Fahrradkonzept der Hauptstadt, das zwei bedeutende
Aktivitäts- und Wohnviertel miteinander verbinden wird. Zudem erlaubt der Aufzug den Einwohnern von
Neudorf einen schnellen Anschluss an das Kirchberg-Plateau und das Stadtzentrum. Außerdem verbessert
diese Brücke auch den Anschluss der östlichen Randgemeinden an das Stadtzentrum und schafft
gleichzeitig eine topographisch attraktive Verbindung zwischen Hauptstadt und Moselgegend.
Aufgrund der Wichtigkeit des Projektes sowohl für den Alltagsverkehr als auch für den Fahrradtourismus
erwartet die LVI von der Stadt Luxemburg eine schnelle Umsetzung des Projektes.

Pedestrian and bicycle bridge Cents – Weimershof/Kirchberg
In 2006 the municipality of Luxembourg City established a concept for bicycle traffic. In this concept a
bicycle connection between the districts of Cents and Kirchberg was planned for the first time, as well as an
elevator for pedestrians and cyclists between Pfaffenthal and the upper city, which will be inaugurated in a
few months. But even though the City has already presented two different drafts for the bridge between Cents
and Kirchberg (with an access to Neudorf by elevator), this project is still not in a phase of implementation.
This connection is however a major element in the capital’s bicycle concept and will allow to connect
two important residential and business districts. Furthermore, the access via elevator will offer a quick
connection to the plateau of Kirchberg and the city centre to the residents of Neudorf. In addition, this
bridge will not only make the capital accessible by bicycle to the residents of the neighbouring municipalities
in the east, but it will also ensure a topographically more favourable connection between Luxembourg City
and the Mosel region.
Given the importance of the project for both, the daily commuters as well as the tourists, the LVI expects
the municipality of Luxembourg City to bring forward its accomplishment as soon as possible.
