Information on local arrangements
1.
Venue of the Workshop
At the kind invitation of the Government of France, the WMO Training Workshop on Metrology for
Regional Instrument Centres will be held from 17 to 21 October 2005 at the:

7, rue Teisserenc de Bort, B.P. 202, 78195 Trappes Cedex, France
The opening ceremony will take place on Monday, 17 October 2005, at 09.00 a.m.
2.
Interpretation and training material
The workshop will be conducted in English. No interpretation will be provided to other WMO
languages. Training material will be available in English and French.
3.
Entry formalities
Delegates from those countries for which visas are required should contact the nearest French
diplomatic representation.
Visas are not issued at the airport on arrival in Paris.
4.
Currency, exchange, use of credit cards, etc.
Local currency is EURO, major credit cards are accepted.
5.
Hotel reservation
The local organizers made arrangements with the Hotel Lafayette (rue G. Monmousseau,
Trappes, Tel: +33 1 30 51 52 08) within a walking distance from the workshop venue. The cost of
accommodation including half board (breakfast and dinner) is around 54 EURO/day. Participants
wishing to stay in the hotel Lafayette should confirm their decision to the local organizers by e-mail,
phone or fax before 19 August 2005.
For others a list of recommended hotels can be found in Appendix I. In this case, a hotel
reservation will have to be made by participants.
6.
Access to Météo France in Trappes
From the Paris city centre train station “Montparnasse” take a train direction to “Rambouillet”. Or
from the Paris city centre take a RER line “C” direction to “St. Quentin en Yvelines”; in “St. Quentin en
Yvelines” you change for a train direction to “Rambouillet”. From “La Défense” take a train direction to
“La Verrière”. Further Information on the access to the site of the workshop venue could be found on
the local websites dedicated to transportation www.sncf.fr, www.ratp.fr, www.sqybus.fr. Situation Plan is
in Appendix II
