It aims to promote the collaboration between groups, contribute to research in this field and disseminate scientific information. It was formed during the International Symposium "Pesticides in Food in Mediterranean Countries" held in Cagliari, Italy in Apri11999. • The Meeting The MGPR Meeting-2002 is organized with the collaboration of the Faculté de Médecine de Monastir (Université du Centre), the Faculté des Sciences de Bizerte (Université du 7 Novembre à Carthage) and the Société des Sciences Naturelles de Tunisie (SSNT- Section Nord). This year, the main objective of the meeting is to activate the Cooperation between pesticide researchers from European and African Mediterranean Countries, and to promote the elaboration of projects proposal into the different National and International Research Cooperation Programmes related with the impact of Pesticides in the Environment and Foods. The meeting will mainly focus on the topics indicated bellow in relation to the Mediterranean Countries, and will include an opening-plenary lecture, a number of keynote lectures, working sessions of the different MGPR working groups, the annual general assembly of the MGPR members, and a technical visit to an important biological production area in Tunisia. • Main Topics - EU-Cooperation Research Programmes - Pesticides in Soils, Water, Air. - Pesticide Regulation and Registration. - Food Processing Studies. - Natural Pesticides. - Integrated Pest Management Systems. - Pesticide Controls for Import/Export. - Quality Assurance in Pesticide Analysis. • Preliminary programme 24 April Afternoon: Registration & Reception 25 April Morning session: Plenary & Keynote Lectures.
