Remember that the color words are adjectives in French meaning they will “agree” in gender and in number with the nouns they modify. Agreement is another huge topic in lesson 4 so you will see this term and you will need to be sure to use it when you are describing nouns with any words that are descriptive words – adjectives. This chart shows you the forms of the color words that you will use. 3. In French- all colors come AFTER the noun. a. All colors must agree with the noun. b. Blanche is feminine because une toilette is feminine. c. Il y a une couverture noire. i. Noire is feminine because une couverture is feminine.
